Picture feeding time.

It's a blur shot, but I like the smile and the blurness of it. Well, I knew this for a long time that a good photo is not all about the perfectly-executioned shot with correct exposure and great sharpness. To me, capturing that special moment is far more important. It gives life to the pictures. That's why I still keep many blur pix in my archive just because they got that special moments.

Another reason to post this picture is to cheer up the girl. Perhaps it's hard for her to believe that some Japanese are amazed by her presence on the street. Ok the story is like this. We walked passed a junction and I saw a bunch of Japanese tourists. Then one of them saw her and shouted "Sugoiiiiii~" which roughly means "very nice". Well, you guys maybe saying he was amazed or surprised by something else. Hmm, but as a guy, you know how sparkle a male's eyes can be when he spotted something "interesting". LOL.

Yeah even Japanese are amazed by her presence. You should feel happy about it. Really. =)

Outdoor Portrait

Our company magazine DCM and Canon had jointly organised this EOS Seminar - Outdoor Portrait photography session at KL Bird Park. Well, it was supposed to be shooting inside the big bird cage, but we shifted the location to the nearby Orchid Garden. Whatever, still shooting the same 4 lovely models - Crissty, Angeline, Lo Xanne & Joanne.

Actually there are more than doing the practical shooting. I actually learned some ideas from the seminar conducted by Philip and a local pro Mr.Chua. Heck, I even saw some familiar and sexy faces on the slideshow screen. Nia. Well, there are some idea about doing outdoor shooting by using reflector, outdoor flash (Kenny's strong weapon), soft and diffused lights, etc etc. Well I shall fell grateful because I no need to pay to get in here, and yet listened to these seminar talks with great knowledge sharing.

I also joined the shooting session by using the E-1 to shoot. Haha, I wanted to borrow a 5D FF DSLR but there were no more. Nia. Even the 85mm, 135mm, 50mm F1.2 also not available, so better just stick back to my trusted E-1. Since I was free to roam around, I just joined the groups here and there to capture some portrait shots. Well thankfully, Crissty likes some of my shots. Hahaha~

I realised the benefit of having a reflector during outdoor portraits. It can gives you the well exposed and balance shots. Still it takes some experience to know how to actually reflect light from the sun. I can see Geo & Ken sweating all day long just by holding the reflector for the shooters. Hmm, must try this kinda outdoor shooting someday...

Well even though my shots are still far far away from my reference, but thankfully I can see the improvement myself. It's grateful to say that I didn't wasted all the efforts in the past to reach my current standard. No, I'm not saying I'm any pro to be, but at least I can get some pictures that even myself also feel satisfy. I think there's nothing better than that feeling. =)

MAPA & Monash

Car show time again. This time is MAPA and Monash Motorshow. Again, the only reason I wanted to go to these events is visiting my friends. It pwned the eye-catching cars and products anytime. Hahaha, I feel stoned of it because these events are overwhelming around KL. It feels the same. Sigh.

The MAPA was held in MVEC, which is famous of its poor lighting. So it's flash shooting time for me. I brought the flashgun and borrowed some stofen unit from a fella shooter and start shooting with various idea in mind. Thanks to all my beloved friends there for being my temporary models. Hahaha!

For the Monash Motorshow, it's just a college-based activity which asks you for Rm5 to enter an event with familiar cars and girls. Honestly I dislike the idea of doing carshow outdoor because of the lacking of electronic power which lead to the cars being idled all the time and keep producing poisonous gas and smoke around the area. It pissed me off to see a modified car with thousand of bucks on the decal but keep producing poisonous gas because never service the internal parts. Sucks.

Anyway I meet up with many friends in Monash. It surprised me too. That's why I mostly spent my time taking pictures with friends instead of the cars. It's also another opportunity to try out the flash shooting. Thanks Kenny and Spiel for the helps on this. Nia.

PCFair 2007 (II)

It's PCFair again. Yeah, it's one of the regular event that I go because of my obligation, both for company and for friends. But this time, I didn't get the green light to visit the fair on Friday. My colleague went before me and my boss said there's no need to have 2 people to cover the event. Hmm, there goes my plan and nothing I can do about it. Well it's not bad actually, because my friend told me the jam was terrible to endure. Phew.

So I went on the next day with some friends. Visiting some long-time-no-see friends over there, most notably are Jessica and Hseang. Good to see they are in good shape! I also took this chance to meet YanYee to pass her the belated birthday gift. Hahaha! After all these purposes were served, it's shooting time for me. I brought the flash to learn how to shoot in such dim environment. Hopefully can learn a thing or two.

After the event, I joined Bonus and Fumi for their KL tour. We went to 1U to find Jenni & Daphne and spent some time there shooting the after work series. Then we took off again and head to KL to buy ticket for Fumi. Around 12am, we reached around Kepong area for our much delayed dinner in KFC. Finally I reached home around 1am. Tired.

In the end I only went to PCFair for one day. It's the most less-visit time for me so far. Woo. I didn't buy anything, and didn't take many shots too. Guess it's just another PCFair routine for me. Anyway, it's good to meet up with the old friends and also met some new friends in person. I guess it's a worthy trip. Haha~

Type-R Spirit

Today is the launch of Civic Type-R and Hybrid. It's history in the making for Honda Malaysia because this is the first time they brought in a Honda sports model all the way from Japan, and it's brand new!! I don't know what others feel, but for me, it's really a pleasure to witness this moment as a Honda fans.

Ok it costs about Rm200k. That's even more expensive for a Subaru Impreza WRX Ver8. Yeah, that's the car they like to compare to because of the pricing. It's a turbo-charged 4 door sedan sports car which built with the rally-technology AWD system. Technically it's a better ride than the Civic Type-R. Yeah... maybe? But one thing you have to realise that the Civic Type-R is the latest model from Honda Japan, which was launched few months back then and being quoted as the fastest FF car in its class. It's NA but can boost to 220ps with the 2.0 i-VTEC engine. It has all the latest racing technology and design from Honda. It has a spirit. To me, it's a better car than a Ver8 (Ver10 is coming out) WRX, even though they share the same power output and pricing.

The new Honda Civic FD Type-R

Again, I must say Honda Malaysia are doing great with all their promotion in this region. With the addition of the Type-R launch, it really shows their ambition and the passion to deliver driving pleasure to the customers here. Kudos to Honda!

I just can't buy printer

Printer oh printer...

I never keen on buying a printer for home use. It's useless, quality not good, and never last long. Yah, I'm talking about those entry level low budget printer which always claim that they can print good quality photo. They sure can print that. What they need is the top notch glossy photo paper and a dozen of ink cartridges! Nia.

I used to own several inkjet printer, but all ended up miserably. Print head kong, ink droplet stuck, can't even print the basic documents... etc. No matter how careful I handle the printer, how frequent I replace the ink cartridge, it will still end up like that. Haiz. That's why I never invest money in printer. I bought them simply because my course need to print alot documents. Other than that, printer will never appear in my purchase list.

Nowadays I'd been taking quite alot of pictures. My photo collection is getting more and more, but I rarely print any photo at all. Firstly I don't think my pictures are worthy of a print out. Yeah, not until the day I get myself a camera and shooting my pictures. Secondly, I just can't afford to buy cartridge and photo paper frequently. It's way too costly for a poor guy like me. Nia.

So today I just printed few pictures using TeeToo pictures. (Thanks Taukeh!) I used one of the test unit to print, and the results are not bad at all... Why? Because I used the "Best" setting and also the high grade photo paper!! Yeah, that alone can make a whole lot of difference. In the end, it's still down to the money (you spent), which I can't never afford at all, not to say buy a decent printer for myself. Nia.

An invitation to discover...

Woooo... I can't wait for this. After last year official launch of the New Civic, now I got this chance to witness the history in the making... the launch of Civic Type-R & Civic Hybrid! Yeah, this is the first time Honda Malaysia selling a sportscar over here!! And it's the world-wide famous Red emblem, the Type-R!!

Hahaha, please bear with my enthusiasm because I'm a Honda fans, and I drive a Civic too! =D

A special day? 20072007 (20-07-2007)? Haha, I didn't realise this until Toshio posted this in his Multiply. Well, it does sound special with the double-match figure. Once in every thousand year... but then, next year we will have the similar date in 20082008... so what's the big deal? Hahaha... Anyway, I did enjoy this special day, from morning till midnight. It might be a tired day for me, but nevertheless, I had fun. =)

Always belated

I'm not sure whether this is common, but I always get belated celebration nowadays... Be it my own birthday, or my friends' one. We always have to celebrate it after the exact day. Hmm, sometime it's inevitable because of dedication to works. Then they also reserved that day for the more important people in their lives (obviously I'm not one of them? Haha).

Because of the busy working life, we have to do this all the time. I received belated greeting, gifts every year. Sometime they forgot, sometime they couldn't get in time to pass me the stuff. Well I'm ok with it, as long as they send a simple message the day before/after my birthday. Or explain with a solid reason. Hahaha... It's not like I will stop keep in touch with them just because they forgot about my birthday, but I bet you can understand the disappointment for someone you care so much to forget about your special day.

Alright, just had a belated dinner with Evonne and Bonus. It's supposed to be her birthday dinner but she insisted to pay because she never buy me any lunch/dinner. Hahaha, so I decided to get a birthday gift for her. We walked around in 1U for sometime (while taking pictures) but still couldn't find something that impress her... aiks. She got too many stuffs already. When we were about to give up, she finally found something she wanna add into her accessories list... a cute sunglasses. Haha, glad that she likes it.

Mazda car

If I didn't get my beloved Civic SR3, I think maybe I will get a Mazda.

I once thought of getting a 2nd hand Mazda Lantis as my first car because I just love its design. Small headlamps, aeroback chasis, sporty design, and I heard it's quite powerful too (1.8cc). Of course, it's nothing compare to their famous rotary series, the RX-7 and RX-8. Their designs are simply outstanding. Classic.

Mazda MX5 Roadster

Recently just bumped into this Naza roadshow in 1U, saw this latest MX5 roadster in display. Its exterior design has the Mazda's overall feel, with a sleek chasis and sporty lamps. Too bad they locked the doors. I couldn't get into the car for a look on the interior design, one of the famous selling point of Mazda cars.

My Dad always tells me that Mazda cars are very good in accelerating, and burning fuel. Hahaha, I just found out that he was referring to the rotary engine. It's a suprise that my Dad actually knows about that engine (coz normally people don't know much about engine name, except VTEC). It also shows that Mazda was once a famous sportcar brand in the 90s. Now they are back with a new dealer, hopefully we get to see more Mazda cars on the road especially the Renesis-powered RX-8.

Talk about Mazda cars, I found this video from forums. It's a tv commercial of Mazda3. A very nice & creative advertisement. Enjoy!

DotA craze

Yeah it took me so looooooong to join the craze of DotA (Defense of the Ancient), a mod/map for Warcraft III. I'd been hearing lotsa comments about this game from friends & colleagues. I even saw them play the game before, but it didn't motivate me enough to try it. Not until my friend told me that we can actually play this without going to cybercafe for LAN games... we can play this at home!

Well, thanks to Hamachi (wiki), we can actually create a virtual network via internet to "fake" a LAN. Then we can connect to each other as long as we are in a "server". It works well! You can hardly tell the difference in terms of connection speed and ping time. This is really amazing... Well, I used to dream of playing LAN games with my dudes at home (since outside is not that safe anymore), and now it really happens, without any cost at all! =D

So I endured all the tedious installation steps to get this game works, then started playing DotA at home. Well it's more complicated than I thought, even though I finished both game of Warcraft III. The control is simpler; the gameplay also simpler, but you have to make good use of gold, times and items. Especially a big game with 5v5 players, your hesitation or wrong tactics might cost you the game! Hohoho... Well I'm still playing casually with friends, mostly play against computer AI just to get used to the game. The AI is not bad at all, but I think killing your dudes in the game would prove more enjoyable. Hehehe...

So now DotA had became my daily (not everyday) past time. I will try to play whenever my friends ask me to. Just treat it as an relaxing activity after a tiredsome working day. It's also a nice way to get in touch with those fellas. We talk alot craps in the game and never worry about bothering others. Hahaha~!

Farewell to my colleagues

Now I know the feeling of "people come and go".

Within 4 months, I saw 5 colleagues left the company. All of them are either my senior, or same batch with me when I joined this company. Even though I know this is inevitable (just the matter of time), but it still feels sad to see the familiar faces disappear in your office...

Nevertheless, I wish them all the BEST for their future endeavours (study, working oversea). It's glad that we had worked together and shared many laughters all this while. I truly cherish this period of time and will try my best to keep in touch with them for sure.

Old songs are the best

Recently I'd been singing alot of Jay Chow's old songs (mainly 1st and 2nd album). I even got the feeling to go Karaoke to sing loud loud. Hahaha! I don't really know why, but I has more feeling singing his old songs. The great melody, the simple yet meaningful lyric, the strong vocal... They are just great.

I'm not criticizing his new songs though, I just prefer his old songs which had more impact to me. Especially the first hit song he introduced himself, "Black Humour". It could be an all-time classic song for me, and it's never easy to sing too! Haha, but I love to sing his songs because it's like an challenge to me. I used to have a very low pitch (even now, when talking), but I still can sing most of his high pitch songs. Not sure it's good for your ears, but I really enjoy singing his hard-to-sing songs. Hahaha~

Hello there!

It's been half a year, 6 months, 26 weeks, countless days... for me to write a blog entry on this page. My last entry was written in January, just 1 week after my birthday. After that, I had gone missing in blogging...

So there's no more happening in my life? Nah, it's the other way around. Blogging here (in Blogger) has never been easier with the newly implemented system, live-update, customization, consistent internet connection, etc etc. The only reason that stopped me from blogging is... it's hard for me to catch up! (Lazy anyone?) Catch up what?? It's catching up for the past 6 months! Whenever I thought of writing the blogs for past 6 months, I hesitated, and went on to do other stuffs. I just couldn't imagine how many hours I need to spend to accomplish that mission... until my friend Andra told me about her new blog, and wrote me a message for my long lost blog entry.

It's a wake up call for me. I'm been digging a deep hole in the corner all this long, keep reminding myself that I need to write all the blogs about what happened in the last 6 months, so that I can make my blog looks more perfect and neat.

You know what? Screw that.

What's the point of crawling over some old memories for eternity, when we have more exciting things to expect in the future?? It (the last 6 months) has been dragging me for a long period to the extent that I couldn't write anymore blog, not until I finish writing them. It sounds really stupid, isn't it? Shame on me for putting myself in a neverending maze which made me give up in blogging. Shame on me for disappointing my friends who read this lousy blog. Shame.

There is other reason that discouraged me from blogging anyway... Some of my blogging friends has stopped blogging. Not even that, they stop reading as well. So I got no comments anymore, and sometime it feels quite empty to see every post also ends up zero comment. Cely once told me that thinking is a joke. I blog for myself, not blog for comments. Even though there's no comment, but it doesn't mean no reader. Hmm, quite true. So screw that lah! Hahaha~

So now I decided to get back in blogging. No particular reason. Whenever I feel like writing a blog, I will do it the short way. Too many crap (my England is very the poor) to read also not a good thing to your stressful mind, aye? =)

And I like to use this blog to thank my surpportive friends who encouraged me to keep blogging. Thanks alot! You know who you are lah. =D

This fella is making great use of his handsome face and tall body. Always take picture everywhere he goes, and never hesitate to pose as well. I'd became his photographer during our outing and he never fail to make me laugh with those poses. Hahaha~

Congratz to Cristty as the FHM Girl Next Door 2007!! =D

It's my first event in 2007, and I really glad that I made it to the Espanda club to witness Crissty to be crowned. She's the only contestant that got my vote. Hahaha. Well I also know TingLih, so it makes an even better reason to go there to support both of them. I brought along the E-300 (with built in flash) to do coverage for this event. Thankfully I managed to get to a better position to shoot during the later stage of the whole event. (More photo in my photoblog)

Honestly I didn't expect Crissty to win the contest. My friend felt the same thing. But this feeling had changed when the contest progressed. She performed very well. She looked confident, elegant, and of course, sexy too. Her Q&A also very nice. I must say she deserves that title because of her performance in the final. =D

Feel happy for her and hope this title will bring more opportunity to her in the future! Well done there, hunnieCrissty! =)

New Year

On the first day of 2007, I went to TimeSquare to shopping for my friends' birthday gifts. The funny thing is, all their birthdays had passed. Hahaha~

I went there with my fellas and had a dinner there as well. It wasn't as crowded as I expected. I still can see some leftover from last night's countdown. Not a nice scene to witness on the new year day...

Hope a new year will bring new hope and new meaning to my life~! Wish everyone a happy new year 2007! =)

Karaoke night

Another bachelor night in Karaoke room! Tonight our VIP is Desmond, the guy who's gonna register the next morning. Hahaha! Wish him all the best for his marriage.

We went to Neway Karaoke in TimeSquare for a wild singing night. It was fun nevertheless, with everyone singing out their best just to release all the tension from works. I also sang some new songs with high difficulty. I even ran off the pitch! Haha, but that was fun too.

Since we had some sponsor for this outing, we also ordered those foods. The taste is not bad at all, just the quantity... freaking little based on that price tag. Overall I still feel it's expensive, but who cares lah... as long as we had fun! We certainly had great fun! =D

Working Christmas Eve

It's Christmas eve and I'm still working in office to rush out the magazine. Getting tired to answer the questions like...

"Spending this special eve with whom?"
"No go out meh?"
"Christmas woh... go clubbing lah~"

Hahaha, I think working is the best answer to all of them. Well, not like I don't wanna enjoy this kinda festive season holiday with friends. I can say the timing is not right. I can only look forward to the next one...

Went out with Fire for a short trip to Hulu Langat after Cely's recommendation in her blog. We lost in direction in Cheras area there, but still managed to find our way to reach this lookout point. Wasn't much impress with the atmosphere there, not even the view. Didn't spend our supper there though. Went back to Gombak to have a short TT.

I wish to have a different Christmas next year. =)

Honda Civic Club TT

It's our very first TT session with the fella civicians from LowYat Forums (Fast N Furious) after 2 long years. Finally we managed to get it up and running without thinking about the poor attendance or lack of communication. We made it!

I was the first one to arrive at Aman Suria, along with Fire. I asked him to tag along for dinner and also helping us to take pictures. Of course, he's also interested on Civic. He almost got one last time if the SEG didn't block his plan... Hahaha~ After I parked my Civic on a nice spot, we had dinner at nearby chinese restaurant. During the dinner I already received several phone calls from the fella members. Some of them were doing their own convoy along the jammed LDP. Hahaha~

There were 6 people showed up, including myself. Well, it's kinda small TT session, but the less attendance made the communication easier. Everyone get to know each other better. Since we already knew each other online, so it's easier for people to get into the topic especially when it's about car, civic and vtec!

After the TT session (which paid by Egiewan), we went on to check each other's engine. Hmm, I should say we went to check Simon's B16A VTEC and Egiewan's K20A i-VTEC, because the rest don't have VTEC at all! Hahaha~ But they were generous enough to open the bonnet, let us examine the famous engine from Honda. Simon also explained the parts to us and even gave us a ride in his VTEC-powered EG6. Seriously, I didn't expect a 1.6 NA (Non-Aspirited) car to get this much of G-Force...!! Its power is enormous!! When Simon press the pedal hard on 2nd gear, Moon and I were being pull back by the G-Force. We both speechless for a few seconds. Hahaha~ Simon even engaged the VTEC for us to hear the scream of B16A. It's really nice...! Too bad the road is not long enough, and there was also roadblock being set up at the same time. But I'm sure Moon got what he's seeking for... the real power of VTEC.

After I took some pictures of the rides and engines, it's time to say goodbye. Even though there were only 3 civics showed up, but it's a nice TT session with the guys and I'll look forward to the bigger one next time.

The VF TT, only happens once a year because everyone is getting busy with their life, be it study or work. One of the fella members came to KL from Penang, so we held this gathering in TimeSquare. Well, the sad thing is, only guys attended. Hahaha.

I borrowed Carson's Vendetta mask for this shot. Quite like it too! Just that, the mask is too freaking big for my small face. Hahaha~

Christmas with Sarah

Did a casual shooting with the lovely Sarah in Bukit Bintang area. Our theme is Christmas, so we went to different complex there for indoor shoots with Christmas decoration as background. Just brought the E1 with 14-54mm and 50mm to try out different shooting idea. Thanks to Sarah too, because she was really good in posing. We certainly had a good time the whole day. =D

Christmas decoration in KL Plaza

This is not really a visit blog to PCFair because I didn't stay long in there. More like passing by and say HI to my friends. After that, I went to Bintang Walk area with a camera and take some pictures of the Christmas decoration. I must say I was impressed by the KL Plaza decoration. Even though you don't get to see a big crowd inside the complex, but their decoration is always nice and good for taking pictures. Hmmm, after taking some pictures, I had some plans in mind already...

PCFair 2006 (III) - Day 2

Today I brought the E1 to PCFair for more coverage pictures for the magazine. Kev gave me a ride to KLCC, thanks buddy. I was in time to meet up with K-End for a short chat before he went off to pack his stuffs from the other exhibition. Then I met Jessica again. She invited us for a lunch/dinner (around 4-5pm) at Kenny Rogers. Hahah, free food by the generous girl again. We had a good time there with TingLih joining us (again). I didn't waste the chance to take pix with them. Thanks to Kev, I really like this pix alot!

Jess also helping me to get the D-Link modem with a better price. Thanks! In return, once again I became his personal photographer to help her take pictures with her friends in PCFair. Hahaha~ After that, I also met Lurker. I even helped him to take pix with Crissty. Too bad the one he took for us is blur! Damn you! Hahaha~ I also tried to snap some conceptual pictures there, and some of them turn out to be good. I always looking for different angle to shoot inside an exhibition fair like this. Observation is important!

Thanks to all the generous friends who posed for me, I managed to get the job done. Will definitely use their pictures for the coverage and hopefully it turns out nice. Had some great time chatting with them too. Look forward to the next one!

PCFair 2006 (III) - Day 1

It's 1st day of PCFair again, my usual slacking day from office with my boss. Hahaha. I brought along his expensive camera with me to KL convention centre for some coverage pictures. Well, as usual, it's jam. Very jam. Somemore that was an earthquake hitting Indonesia at the same time when we were being blocked from enter the carpark to KLCC. I wonder was that an coincidence...? Left no choice, we had to park the car in KLCC Park and endured a long walk under heavy rain. What a wet day!

This time they didn't use the Hall3 room, and that caused the traffic (human) even more jam inside the convention hall. Without wasting any valuable time (becoz arrived quite late), I used the 1Ds to get the event coverage pictures. I got most of the pictures I need for the magazine, but forgot to take more pix of the promo girls...!! Only got 3 pix? How can it be? Hahaha. Need to come back visit the fair again.

Today also my first time meeting up with Crissty, who worked for Acer. She recognized me on the spot. Hahaha. Then also saw the Miss Hypertune 2006, Carace. I took her picture but I don't know her. Heh. Then I saw Rose again at Toshiba booth. After that, it's the usual angelicious face of Angelica (together with Grace) for Sony VAIO. Haha. After that I went down to the ground level for more booths. Coincidently I found Jessica at the Epson booth. Since I was quite rush, so I promised to take her pix the next day. Then I found Joanne at the Samsung booth, promoting the latest MP3 player. Her dress was very elegant, but she is naughty as ever. Hahaha. At last, after searching for a long time, I finally found Sarah at the LG's "booth". Well it's not actually a booth, but just a small counter for the gift redemption. Too bad we both were busy at that time, so we didn't get to dinner and chat together.

Shall get back to PCFair on the next day for more girl pictures and also chatting with my friends. =)

Deja Vu

It's been a long time since I last catch a movie in Cinema. Nowadays I usually spend my time in front of the computer, watching anime and music video. Even I got some DVD to clear, but I just don't have that kinda time to sit there 2 hours, watching the screen... I'm weird.

So I got this Deja Vu tickets from office. Without a 2nd doubt, I decided to go for it. It's in 1U TGV, so shouldn't be a problem to me. I asked few people to join me (I got 2 tix), in the end it's Kev who was the lucky guy. Hahaha. So we meet in 1U after work and had a dinner in McD before the show. Then I met my colleague in McD! The world is small eh?

Before we entered the cinema, I saw many familiar faces there. My colleagues, ex-colleagues, clients, friends... Just greet them and off we go to the cinema. It's free seating, means first come first serve. I prefer to get a better position for movie, so we got in earlier than others.

The movie is good. It makes me think abit. Well, I think most cross-time-fantasy movie will make people think for awhile, because we always have imagination for (our) future, and also wonder can we change (our) the past. This movie is exactly about that theory. Both of us enjoyed the movie. Great.

After the show, I followed Kev's car to go home (same taman). He lead me to another route and it was quite fun to do little convoy with him. We didn't speed that much, but not too slow either. Hehe. Then we saw this modded black EK hatch along Jalan Ipoh, which acted quite provocative towards us (and others). Of course we didn't give a damn to it. Hahaha.

Safely reach home. Enjoyed the movie. A new day tomorrow. Zzz.

Tonight need to settle the dinner myself because my parents need to attend yet another wedding dinner! Huh... I almost lost count how many they went within this year... So I called Firewire. We decided to go 1U to try the Fish and Co. restaurant. Just like his advice, "try new stuff"! Hahah~

Sony HD Roadshow

Before we went for dinner, I visited this Sony HD roadshow at the New Wing. There, I met Angelica again!!! Hahaha~ We talked for awhile and she asked me to join this Bond Girl Search contest. Then I took out the E1 (just brought along) and took a couple shots of her and also the roadshow. After that, we went on to our delayed dinner.

It's quite a decent restaurant with environment design. The serving food are nice too. Well, at least I tried something new here. Thanks to Fire da man. Hahah~

When I went to take my car and ready to leave, the whole 1U area was jam like shit!!! I felt really shock to see that. It took me a long while just to get out from the jamming area. Luckily I did the toilet business before leaving, else...

Forever Love

Thanks to my sudden interest, I got the Music Station Top100 Love Song collection. Among the 100 Japanese songs, I fall in love with this song by X-Japan, the legendary band with a sad ending. It only makes this song even more classic.

I never realise that I got this song in my old comp. It's the piano version. Still, it has that touching feeling whenever I listen to it. The original (vocal) one is even better!! Truly a classic with its piano play, guitar solo, and sad vocal. I don't really know much about the lyric, but the melody itself had made me feel very touched... It's not sad, but somehow it touches the soul.

After I got the song, I went to look for its video clip. I found the MTV on Youtube, but it's nothing special. Then I bumped into this "Last Live concert", their last concert before dismissing the band. They sang this song. It's a very emotional scene there, especially if you know what was going on that time. (Try wikipedia) I'd been playbacked the song and video non-stop. I just addicted to it and never get bored.

It's truly a classic to me. A song that will last for many years to come. It once proved that music is without boundary. Everyone can love any kinda music despite the language barrier. This song is a great example. I saw many foreigners' comment, some of them would like this song to be played on their funeral. Hahaha...

Maybe I'm too late, but still wanna wish Hide to rest in peace and hope Yoshiki will compose some classic melody again, such as Forever Love and Endless Rain. Peace.

Singapore Motorshow 2006

Master Teetoo's masterpiece... nice!

I couldn't make it to Singapore Motorshow after all the speculation and preparation. The timing just not right for me. Well, kinda disappointed with myself, and also to the Rojak gang, and also to Sarah. She's working for THULE (again) in the motorshow. I couldn't go there to support her. Feel ashame of it. Sigh...

So I asked Fuminari to help me get her pictures as many as possible. He (they) didn't disappoint me at all. I like the shots! They also took alot pix especially the ambassadors. Julie Hoi was there as well. Hmmm, from what I'd seen so far, I am confident to say that KLIMS has the better quality in ambassadors. Even though we don't have newer display cars, but KLIMS was more happening than this one.

Again, it's picture collection time for me. I went to a few forums to look for the pix. It took me 2-3 weeks to search for the pictures! Well, even though it's not as good as I'd expected, but I hope I can join the gang to visit it someday. =)

Suddenly I got the urge to go KL today, by driving. I seldom do this actually. Not that I don't know how to drive in KL or road-blind. It's just that I always try to avoid from going to KL, especially driving there myself. I was kinda paranoid of traffic jam there, mess up the wrong route, roadblock, or something bad happens... Maybe I just being paranoid. Like Firewire said, I really need to change my mindset. I should adventure more epsecially I had mastered the driving for a long time already. Well, I guess tonight is a good start for me? Finally I drive to KL by myself. =)

Actually I got some plans to do in KL. I need to pass something to friend, meeting a fella photography friend, and shoot the KLFW at BTS or SWP. In the end, I accomplished all the missions. Hahaha. I went to Sg.Wang to shoot the Padini fashion show at the concourse level. Saw some macho model. Hahaha~

I used the EOS 400D with EF Macro 100m F2.8 to shoot the fashion show. No choice, that's the only "tele" lens I have. Well it's fun because I need to think alot on the composition (this lens cannot zoom at all). It's just like shooting with 50mm. It certainly helps alot in my training. I got some satisfy shots after the show, so it's time to meet up with Matthew and check out his newly bought VR lens. I went to BTS again to find him. Then we both shoot the James Bond car (DB9) which was on display at the receiption area there.

After that, I called Firewire to join me for dinner in Sg.Wang. He made it in time. After I told him about today's intention, he encouraged me more about driving. I really owe him alot. Thanks man. That's why I treat you the McD meal. Hahaha~ He also showed me another route to go home. So I just followed his car and found my way to Jalan Genting Klang to pass the magazine to Evonne. She brought her puppy together to my car! Shocked me! Haha~

It's a busy night, but I certainly enjoyed it alot. I feel like I took the big step tonight. =D

Dec's wedding (night)

After several months of preparation, finally it's time for Dec to finish off the matter tonight! It's his wedding dinner. He gotta handle all the troubles especially the drinking part! I truly expected the drunken look from him at the end of the dinner. Hahaha~

Marco Polo restaurant... lousy.

The venue is Marco Polo restaurant, just opposite of Istana Hotel. It's more "quiet" than I expected, maybe lack of guests or noisy people?? Kev fetched me to the location. We're late because of mis-communication. I thought I'd spoilt the setting (of taking video and picture) there by being late, but who knows the couple were even more late than us!!! So Des and Ed were busy setting up the videocam, whereas I was testing the exposure for the camera. Well the receiption table was kinda quiet. Just the groom himself was there to welcome the guests. Then I can see some schoolmates sitting in a corner, talk cock. Huh... Somemore they didn't bring the photo album for the guest to view. The restaurant notice for the wedding... damn simple. These all made me feel like a lousy arrangement.

Anyway, there's a funny sight in the restaurant... half of the attendance are Indians. Mainly because of the working company I think. Well I just hope the Indian guests had no problem with the dish. Then, the emcee conducted the speech in Mandarin only. Hahaha~ Thankfully he did include the English version afterward. The emcee was an uncle, who spoke really funny English. We were laughing after his speech! Hahaha~ After that, it's the slideshow time. They playback the slideshow for the whole dinner... siao. I even saw my picture appeared in the slideshow. That's funny.

The dish is ok loh... didn't eat as much as last time.

So it's the usual procedure. The dish ceremony, emcee giving speech, first dish serving, video presentation, slideshow, yumseng with the family, slideshow again, then walk around the restaurant to take pix (not yumseng!! LOL!). Then Des, Kev, Ed and I were busy taking picture and video for the couple. Follow them wherever they go, and always looking for the best position to take the best shots for them (shot till the flashgun out of battery!). And you know what? No one was at the exit to entertain the leaving guests!! WTF~

Final part of the dinner. Drinking time. I saw the fella kept drinking from table to table, without anyone helping him at all!! Hahaha! Where're his "brothers"? But he still make it though, to be in conscious mode. Hahaha! So we're making fun of the couple till 11pm, because the restaurant was busy cleaning up the place already. Another WTF!!! How can?? They're just started! Sigh, what a lousy restaurant.

So I didn't stay till the very end with them. After I done my part (shooting, greeting), Chris fetched me home with his Satria. Well, I was kinda worry because this fella drunk abit and quite moody in the moment, but thankfully I made it home safely and still in time to catch a midnight football match! Hahaha~

Dec's wedding (day)

Finally it's Dec's wedding day. I got up in the early morning and got myself ready with all the gears for a busy shooting day. I managed to borrow the latest Canon EOS DSLR 400D with my editor's L lens (!!!) to shoot today. Wooo, first time using the cam (and lens), hopefully the result won't be too bad.

We reached his house around 8.30 in the morning. Everyone was helping him to get a good look as the groom. Hahaha. Then Des was busy shooting the video and interview the fella. I just took out the cam and start shooting everything that can be a good memory to the couple. After we done the shoot, it's about time to depart. We went with 3 cars, included the leading bridal car - that fella's green bug MYVI. Hahaha, it surely attracted lotsa attention on the road. Well we also did the video shoot in the car. Luckily nothing bad happen. Hahaha~

When we arrived at the bride's house, the leading car was hornking all the way. Yeah, I know it's tradition, but it sounds really annoying to me. Somemore non stop. Siao. Then we went to the bride's house and start playing those *yawn* games... Sing song, kiss the paper, drink/eat disgusting stuffs, negotiating, blah blah blah... Well, it's supposed to be fun because we know each other. But somehow it turned out to be the boring one, and we got too many "silence moments" if you know what I mean... I compare this to my bro's one, this one is definitely boring......

I was the busy shooting camera man, so I didn't really bother much about the lousy games. Des, Ed and Kev also busy shooting all the time, only left the groom himself stand there like a helpless soul. Hahaha~ Thankfully we still managed to pass the obstacles and get to the bride's room for final stage. Yeah, the "say-I-will-take-care-for-you", answering questions, kiss-kiss, etc... We camerama had to get all these captured. Really not easy I tell ya...

So finally Dec got his bride to come down, but the ceremony just about to start...!! The couple need to do the "yumcha" session with the relatives, and there are many of them. Well, some of them did cry, not sure what Dec think about it?? Huh... It took a long while for them to finish the ceremony, then it's the photoshoot session. Taking group picture with relative and friends. Well thankfully I managed to ask someone to take pix for me, so I can join the gang to take pix together. Hahaha~

Touching moment for the family...

After we settled all the necessary ceremony, it's time to head back to Dec's house for his side's ceremony. It's a smooth trip, and we're just in time to reach before heavy rain. After some basic shoot of the ceremony, we finally got our much deserved break time with minor lunch. Hahaha. It's quite tiring because we went out last night and woke up way too early today. The guys were relaxing for awhile but not for long, because we need to head back home to prepare for tonight's wedding dinner.

After the rain stopped, I went back home to recharge battery and get ready for another shooting session. While charging the battery, I gave myself a short nap. I really need one... zzz...

It's Dec's wedding eve. We decided to do the bachelor night kinda thing again. Hahaha. This time it's only 4 guys. We went to Souled Out in Hartamas. Well, nothing special really, just some casual chat with beers and fries (I don't drink as usual). The place wasn't that happening as I expected, but I did see a 350Z parked there. Wooo... Not much lenglui spotted also. So it's a boring night. Hahaha~

Sony Ericsson roadshow

I @ IT!

There's Sony Ericsson roadshow in 1U on the same day. As usual, I went to check out the latest models from SE. Always wanna test out w810i and K800i, now I got the chance. Well, the picture quality not really that great to my expectation. Nah, not like I got the fund to get any of these phones also. So just chill. They're having the promotion for the latest James Bond movie in the roadshow. Can see some funny games going on.

Then I spotted the familiar face. It's Angelica, again. Hahah, she works for SE again!! Well I think I had bumped into her in events/roadshow for countless time already. She also laughs everytime we meet. Hahaha~ I talked to her for awhile and also play with her in-charge phone, the K800i. Thanks to Angelica, I manage to get a sample pix of K800i by transferring to my phone via bluetooh. =)

To my surprise, I saw someone I didn't really expected. Somemore it's her who saw me and called out my name. Wooooo~ It's Sarah, the lovely lass from KLIMS. Yeah, it's been months since I last saw her. Well, gotta say I have very good "yuan fen" with her. Hahaha~ We talked alooooooooooot at her booth, and also took some pix of her. Glad that she likes it~! =D

Guess Model Search 2006

I heard of this event from Kenny, and he recommeded me to go because got some hot models to shoot. Well, I didn't get the E1, but the E-300. So I just took this opportunity to shoot with a different DSLR and see how the result turns out. Hmm, hot model eh?? I only sure that Amber Chia will be there as the honour judge. The event was held in 1U New Wing. I went with Kev, as usual.

The Guess Model Search 2006 consists of 30 participants, 15 guys and 15 girls. The judge will pick the 20 finalists from today's contest. When I shoot the contestants in the first round, I already spotted some familiar faces among them. Some of them are catwalk models, some are celebrities!! I bet they all came for the Guess name, and try to be Amber Chia No.2??

I shot using the E-300 with ZD 14-54mm F2.8-3.5 lens. Suprisingly, the picture came out quite sharp to me. Even sharper than E-1!! Wooo... Maybe it's time to learn how to set the paremeters or spend more time in PhotoShop?? Hahaha. I also tried to shoot with different spots. Since I have a wide angle lens, I guess I have the advantage of shooting with different compositions. Hahaha.

After the contestant round, there comes the Guess catwalk which featuring some familiar faces. I recognized one of them is actually my frienster friend (never actually introduce before though). So I tried to get some shots of her and send to her later. I missed the chance to greet her though because she seems busy that day. Hahaha. Poor me.

Also met up with Kenny and thanks for the Hypertune Mag!! Met the PK gang as well, all came with bazooka and rocket launchers. Then I also meet up with Chris (with her friend Tammy) after last PCFair. She told me Jasmine was there as well. So I finally met Jasmine in person even though we chatted for so long via MSN. Hahaha. Today really met many people. Of course, I took out the cam and help them take pictures too.

Of course I didn't miss the chance to take pix of Amber Chia. Hahaha.

MACIP 2006

It's Miss Astro 2006 final tonight, which will be held at Genting convention centre. I was supposed to be there because Goey had reserved a tix for me. But then, due to some uncertainty and bad weather, I watched the ASTRO live broadcast at home. Hahah, I hope she doesn't mind though. My tix had given to other friends who went there to give their supports to her by waving banner and screaming. Hahahah~

So Firewire came over my house and we had a takeaway KFC variety bucket as dinner. We watched the whole show at home. Luckily the rain didn't interrupt the transmission. Well, what to say about the final?? The make up sure looks better than last time, but the sms voting system just plain sucking ($$$). WTF the Top5 was determined by sms??? This sounds like a con-test (credit to Cheesie dear) to me.

Goey didn't make it into the Top5. Well I think she didn't perform well throughout the show (even herself said so), can see she was quite nervous when answering questions and performing talent. Hmm, her sms voting was below Top5, not really sure that's the decisive factor or not. In the end, the Top5 was the exact Top5 I predicted. Not only that, the Top3 also same as my prediction. Well, there's only mismatch for the 2nd & 3rd, because I already knew that Novelle is gonna get the title... Not much feeling anyway. I only support my friend. She didn't win, I lazy to catch up the show anymore. Well, I think that's the idea by Astro right? Support your friend, vote vote vote!! Sigh...

After the show, I made a phone call to her and she sounds fine with the lost. Well, she did earn a life time experience. That's what it counts. Go go Goey! =)

Promo tours

Today Kev wanted to go Sg.Wang to take pix of the local drama "The Beginning" promo. Well, he said he wanna see some actor (I bet only the girl...) there. So I accompany him to KL for the event coverage. Brought the lower end E300, I decided to only shoot JPEG and play with some zooming effects. Another chance to play with composition and some results are quite satisfying. Hahaha... Then I saw a familiar face at the Hotlink booth there. It's YenKuan, Cyn's best friend. Haha, I always see her pix together with Cyn, that's why I can easily recognize her. Thankfully she also recognized me when I approached her. Talked for awhile and then, as usual, take a pix for her. Hahaha.

After that we went to Hartamas shopping centre for the TXN promo tour. I thought maybe can see some familiar faces there, but too bad... Just some modded cars and heavy-ICE BWM. Got some breakdance performance and also girl posing with cars. I didn't stay long because there's a decision to be made for tonight's plan. After we did our coverage of the event, we went back home straight.

And the shopping centre is quiet like... dunno. Just quiet. Not many people also. Hmmm, strange place. No wonder I don't hang out there much. Hahaha.

Camera model shootout @ 1U

Only heard of this camera fair last night and decided to pay a visit because some of my friends are going to do the catwalk. I also wanna check the latest pricing of the DSLR. I really need one soon... So I convinced Kev to go with me. We brought our cams and get ready for the show to start. Also met Chris and Awong there, the only PK fellas who came support for the girls. Well, I also spotted a familiar face in ShaolinTiger! Wooo, he's huge. =D

Model v photographers... 1: 100!

They used the Raya stage for the show. Looks kinda weird, but whatever. My focus is not the background nor the camera, but the girls!! Hahah, yeah, because it's been a loooooong time since I last saw Rose and Christina. Well, luckily Rose still can recognize me and always give a good pose in front of me. Thanks for that!! Not sure about Christina though, cause she doesn't look like in a good mood... Anyhow, still took quite alot of their pix. Haha~

Because Kev is rushing to KL, so I didn't stay to lunch with them after the show. Just said goodbye and I followed Kev to KL. I took bus (wooo, long time no take bus) to Bukit Bintang for a walk. Saw the new Louis Vuitton shop located just next to StarHill. Quite huge. Well, didn't dare to walk in though. Hahaha.

I also stopped by the after-renovation S&M complex. They rearranged many things there, most notably the level categorization. Well, it does look more clean and brighter inside though. Didn't buy anything, but had a short walk in the whole complex.

After that, it's home sweet home and lotsa of RAW images to process...

Another old song revived! I saw the music video of this song on TV, then it brings some impact to me again. I always like this song, probably the favourite among Louis Koo's albums. It has a simple lyric, yet it touches my heart with those words... I guess this song really spoke out some of the lonely men's heart-voice. Secretly love the girl (attached), and always be there for her. I think the music video truly shows the whole story...

Dec's registration

It's afternoon 12pm. Kev and I heading to Tian Hou Gong for Dec's wedding registration. We brought our shooting gears to help taking some picture and video for him. But I just don't know why he chosed that place, instead of the new one in Putrajaya which has a larger space and more time for the couples. Duh.

The weather wasn't much helping either. Heavy rain when we're on the way after picking up Ed at his house. I knew we're gonna be late when we stuck in some jams before reaching that place. Luckily we're still in time to catch the moment in a tiny little room with many people inside... double duh.

After the registration, we started to taking pix around the area. His relatives, his friends, and his lovely wife... Just take whatever pix we can before heading for the bad-planned-lunch-cum-dinner. At that peak hour (and also holiday to Selangor people), having lunch in Mid Valley is never really a good idea...! After an hour of jam for nothing, they decided to change the venue to 1U. Yeah, finally made a good decision, but the case doesn't end here. We had to guide that fella (whose car filled with women) to 1U. And guess what? His top speed is even slower than my learning time in a Kancil!!!

We had the so-called "lunch" at 5pm in this Dragon-i restaurant in 1U. Expensive like heck. As expected, we're divided by gang. I only talked to the close buddies. Not even talk much to the marry couple since they were surrounded by their gang too. Just keep on taking some pictures and then it's ciao time. The next time we meet should be on the wedding day. Hopefully it won't be as messy as this one. God bless.

Fun night

Dec gonna go for wedding registration tomorrow. It will mark the end of his single status. Duh. Still don't know why he wanna get marry so early for what? He's not even half mature in our view!! And he doesn't even know how to drive his car (MyVI Manual) properly yet!! Damn.

So tonight we went out to enjoy the last bachelor night with him. Dec, Kev, Ed, Des and I, all 5 people dress up nicely with one purpose in mind - clubbing! Wooo, it's Monday night and we all head for clubbing? (The next day is Selangor's holiday though) This is something special to me, but whatever, just wanna enjoy with the gang. So we all sit into Dec's MyVI (but driven by Kev) and head to KL clubbing place.

We couldn't decide the destination. How pathetic. It also shows that none of us are clubbing kaki. The clubs we remember are either closed down and changed name already... sad. Well, the famous one in my mind are Zouk, Velvet, Thai Club, Beach Club, etc. So Kev suggested for a ride around Bukit Bintang. We parked our car at nearby parking lot. Then we went survey the area (KLCC there) by walking here and there. Saw many hot chicks standing by, like hunting... I also phoned my friends (also greeting Pearly and Claudia Happy Birthday) to ask for advice. Too bad, the situation was quite messy for us to join the fun in those clubbing places. We're not feeling well to get into such a crowded place (even on Monday night!) especially the bachelor himself. So we had to think for alternative.

Suddenly out of my mind, I suggested Redbox! And guess what? The guys agreed!! WTF! Hahaha, maybe we all were sick of the over-crowded area there. And it's a long drive (at 12am) to go Hartamas or Sunway for more choices. So we decided to settle it at nearby Sg.Wang Redbox. The most important person of the night, Dec, also agreed. What can we say? Just head to sing our stress out for the sake of fun!!

It's a crazy night. I even drank! (Beer) Those fellas pour the beer into my Ice Lemon Tea. WTF! Hahaha... We had fun singing all kinda songs there. Chinese, English, Hokkien and even Vulgar songs by LMF! (How the heck can I even remember how to sing it correctly??! Haha!) The guys also felt more open tonight. Perhaps it's the help of time (midnight) and also alcohol?? We had those little snacks and buffet cake to last till 3am. Had some great fun and laughters altogether.

When we left at 3am, we saw lotsa police patrol cars. We'd already avoided the roadblocks thanks to the tips. Thankfully we all reached home safely and had a nice sleep. Not sure it's the alcohol effect, I feel abit uneasy when I got home. I only drank a little though. Hahah, maybe I'm not a good drinker after all...

Suprise to know that Racheal is featured in a local artiste's music video! Wow!

Well, not the first time I see a friend in music video, but still, it gives some kinda shock! It feels abit funny to see someone you know on the TV screen. To me, TV is a different world. The world beyond my reach. So the people in TV feel like "hard to reach" to me. Hahah, I guess I have to break this stereotype now. I'm getting more and more friends whose face can be seen everywhere... wow!

The music video plot is abit old style. Sad ending again. Well who care? Racheal looks as sweet as ever in the video. She even speak (can hear her voice) in the clip! Hahaha, this babe is getting more popular with each passing day. Wish her all the best in this field lah~ =D

Shopping weekend

Today plan to go out to shoot again, but not confirm with the location. Someone informed me about the Beauty Expo at PWTC. It's an exhibition featuring all the women stuffs, hence the name "Beauty Expo". My friend said it will be packed with many females... duh. I feel odd to go to a place like that just to shoot the audience. Somemore it needs admission fee. Skipped it.

Then there's this S.H.E event in Sg.Wang, with fans trying to imitate their idols on stage. Should be a fun scene, but where're the idols??? Sigh... In the end, Kev and I bumped into this 8TV Carnival, which we never know about it at all. Suprisingly, there will be a special appearance of David Tao just awhile later!! Wooo!

So we stay there inside the crowd and eagerly waiting for D.T in da house! We also managed to catch the "I wanna be model" show on the stage, with the apperance of the contestants. It's a TV show programme actually, but too bad, I never watch 8TV at all. Hahaha...

He looks as friendly as ever. A truly humble and talented artiste! The appearance didn't take long though. He mostly talked about his upcoming concert and also did some prize-giving-ceremony.

After that we went to Sg.Wang to do our shopping spree. Well, not about clothes and acessories, but DVD!! Yeah, all sort of DVD, but mostly video. We also bought DVD media disc (DVD+R) and the DV tape for shooting. I seldom spent this much money, but once in a while should be ok. Well, I think...?

Yeah... Thanks to Cyn again, I fall in love with this song. You evilish cat... =P

Actually I heard of this song before, just didn't get it that time. Then Cyn asked me to find the song for her. Eventually I got the song myself and starting to playback it oftenly. It feels quite nice with the slow tempo. Then it changes the feel to sad mood. Then became a damn sad song...

If you can find the music video, it feels even more sad... Yeah, thanks to Cyn for teling me about the mv. THANK YOU! =P I found the mv and watched it few times. Now I only remember that I actually saw this mv on Astro sometime ago. No wonder it sounds familiar. Talk about the mv, it features Mike He, the rising star in Taiwan showbiz, with his partner in a Taiwan drama series. The music video is like the side story from the drama, with a sad ending (what else).

To make thing worse, I even went to download the karaoke video. I also sang the song in Redbox!!! It feels good to sing it, but in the end, Sad also!

Tonight's dinner is the delayed birthday dinner for Desmond, my buddy from high school. This fella always busy with works and paktoh. After a few call, we confirmed our dinner at Pizza Hut. We ordered the meal for 4 and finished them all! Hahah! We chatted till the closing hour at 11pm, then went back to my place for another session of Winning Eleven. It's another fun night with him and Kev.

Leica lens

It's my first time using a Leica lens to shoot. FYI, Leica is a world famous brand for making optic for lenses/camera. It's freaking expensive as well. I borrowed the Panasonic Lumix L1 with Leica (test unit) from office on Friday for some personal test shoot. This kit costs about Rm9k!! And guess what? It's sorta "broken"! Sometime the lens will stuck at 25mm focal length!! Huh, guess that's the usual problem with test unit???

The Leica lens has a built-in OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) which will compensate your slight handshake when pressing the shutter. It comes in handy during low light situation, especially indoor. Too bad the ISO noise is not good, even at ISO400. That should blame the technology of the camera though. The lens does produce nice pictures.

I brought the camera out to shoot in the neighbourhood. Then after the late sms reply from someone, I decided to bring the camera to KL for some more testing shoot. And yeah, shoot that someone also!! Hahaha!!

Overall the camera performs quite well for normal shooting. The feeling of the L1 is good, got the old school style. It reminds me of the film-SLR generation where you need to adjust the apperture and shutter speed using the dial. Then its "Live View" feature proves to be handy too. But then, the ISO noise is the decisive failure, so do the pricing...

Evonne's outdoor shoot

After the Karaoke outing, we had a short photoshoot session with Evonne BB Vamp at 1U park. Well that's also one of the reasons why we chosed 1U Neway. It was almost 6pm and we only had a short time to shoot before it's getting dark. Vyruz didn't join us for the karaoke session because of urgent family business, but he managed to come for this photoshoot. So we got 3 men taking pix for one model. Vyruz, ShinChan with their newly bought D80, and Viper with the T7. I was busy giving out idea on how to shoot and also taking video footage. Hahaha~

It's actually our first time doing outdoor portrait shoot. We didn't prepare much for this. I just giving out some idea on posing and composition, and they kept pressing the shutter. Hahaha... Well this will be an valuable experience for us. At least now we know what sort of problem we will encounter during an outdoor photoshoot. Well, we really need to set a good time for shoot, and also bring reflector, anti-mosquito spray, water, umbrella, notebook and maybe some music player! Hahaha~

We finished the shoot at 7pm. Then we went for dinner at Pizza Hut. Too bad it was too crowded, and Vyruz gotta go before 8pm. So we settled our dinner at MongKok with some chinese meals. Had some laughters there.

Neway Karaoke

It's been a long while since my last karaoke outing in Redbox. Finally today I got myself into a karaoke room for some singing again. This time it's not Redbox though, but the new branch of Neway Karaoke located at 1U. It's actually my first visit to Neway Karaoke. Just feel like giving it a try.

Finally another karaoke session...!

I managed to invite Patty, Evonne, BB Vamp, Viper, ShinChan & Fire to attend the karaoke session. The FFK or those who couldn't make it... well, no need to mention here. You know who loh. One particularly is Tony. Yeah, you owe me a karaoke sesison. Hahaha~ Since we have too many person for the 2-hours-only lunch session, we opted for the happy hours session. It does give us more hours to sing, but also, more expensive! Well I only go karaoke 2-3 times a year, so nevermind lah. Hahaha... As long as we enjoy ourselves there, money is not a matter (copy Fire's quote)! =D

Neway has a rather advance playback system. Once you selected the song in the playlist, they will playback it instantly. Wooo~ That's better than Redbox. Anyway, I always hear that Neway's food is better. You know what? They sux as much as Redbox's one. The service is good though. When you arrive, they greet you from the reception counter to your room. When you leave, they do the same, by greeting you all the way to your exit. Haha~

Our room actually has a toilet. Hahah!

The songs are quite up-to-date too. I got to sing Jay's latest songs (2 only) there. Somehow I couldn't find some old songs though. Maybe their song selection system is not to my liking. Anyway, we had some great times there. Everyone sang except the BB Vamp. She just won't sing. Hahaha... She came to join us because I asked her to. So, thank you lah, BB Vamp. =)

We had our karaoke session from 1pm to 5.30pm. Sang alot of songs, and went crazy for a few times also. Hahaha~ Look forward to our next K outing and hopefully more people can join us! Thanks for coming, guys and girls. Much appreciated! =D

Today I got 2 guests in the office! Racheal and Christina! Haha, they came to the office for some discussion. This time they didn't forget to come over to greet me. Haha. Then I dragged Racheal over to snap some pix using the iSight camera. She was quite interested on the iSight and its effects. So we just kept snapping our pix there. Hahah!

This is the best pix. I like the way we smile together. Racheal looks more charming with light make-up and new haircut. Her smile is as sweet as usual. Hahaha... Well WongSifu said that (in this pix) she looks very close to me. Not physically, of course. Hahah, I'm not too sure about it, but I just like this pix very much. =)

Busy Off Day

Just like everyone else, I have 14 days of annual leave. So far I only used 6-7 days, and I plan to use more because it can only carry over 7 days (or whatever), else it will get forfeited. So today I took one day off and decided to do my stuffs all at once.

First I need to record a certain show on Astro for my friend. After that, it's the ACM 2006 expo at KL Convention Centre. It's an exhibition showcasing the latest products and solution for the IT industry. Not like the usual sales and demo exhibition, this one requires namecard to enter. Wooo... Well I didn't register as Media even though I work for one. I just visit the exhibition with a guest tag and the DSLR for some photo snapping.

The expo is actually a good one. It has a rather colourful decoration on the booths and also the featured demonstration of various products. I witnessed some demo of the latest technology. Because of my interest, I spent most of the time at the Video Editing section, most notably Sony and Panasonic. Out of expectation, I also met 2 friends there, Claudia and Angelica.

At 4pm, I called ShinChan to meet up. He wanna talk about the possible purchase of the DSLR. We walked around the Bukit Bintang to search for the camera. Then Viper also joined us for the search. We managed to test the Sony Alpha and Canon 400D in TimeSquare. Well, what to say about these 2 cams? They are new, with 10mp image sensor and dust removal feature. But too bad, I don't feel much enjoyment shooting with them. They just don't feel solid to my preference. So now, it's only down to Nikon D80, which is the most expensive out of the available choices. Thankfully we can test it tonight because Vyruz is coming to find us yumcha in KL, with his newly bought D80! LOL, such idea.

After Viper left, ShinChan and I went to this "Dai Pai Dong" located just outside of Lot 10 for our dinner. We waited there for a long time before the fella arrived... with Evonne! What the heck...? So he purposely went to Setapak (all the way from Klang) to fetch her just to yumcha with us in KL? Woo... that is... passionate. LOL.

We spent an hour chatting and taking pix there with our camera. Thanks to Vyruz, we got the chance to play with the D80 and feel satisfy with it. Too bad this camera is too expensive for me at this moment, maybe will wait longer and see...? Well I can see ShinChan had made up his mind already though... As usual, Evonne was the noisy model there, letting us snap her pix under that colourful (WB sux) environment. Then we ciao at 12am.

The day didn't end there. I went back to my Taman to join my friend's driving practise session! Dec just got his new MyVI, with the manual transmission. Yeah, it's his decision. Kev and I respect that, and we'll try our best to help him to master that. So tonight we are the driving instructors, guiding him how to get the basic works be done properly. Hah, it does remind me of my old self not long ago, when I undergo the driving lessons... Anyway, today I also got the chance to drive a MT MyVI. Well, no respect to MyVI, but I just don't like the feeling of driving it. Its steering is loose (too loose), shifting with its gearbox gives me no feeling at all, and the pedals are not solid enough to feel the feedback from the car...!! Argghhh... Now I really know I have a good car in my Civic. Thanks Dad and Bro. =D

We had a break after the first session. It's time for some theory. Kev and I tried to encourage him to try out different manual driving techniques. After the short break, we tried the roundabout, junctions, shifting to 4th gear, and most importantly, steep hill. We spent most of the time on steep hill, because it's the hardest skill to master. With patience, I guided him step by step to get the hang of it. To our suprise, he did rather well on the first few attempts. Hahaha... We just kept doing that again and again, and also ride around the area with laughters. At 3am, lesson ended. There was some nervous moment when we parked the car though... but nevertheless, mission completed. Hah.

So my off day wasn't really a relaxing one. It's a busy one. However, I felt that I did lotsa things today. Priceless~

Jay is back with his new album, "Still Fantasy". Again, a mixture of criticism and compliments can be heard from various sources. It's very common, because everyone is waiting for his new album. Just like the title (and a song) suggested, Jay doesn't really give a damn to those who expect new suprise from him. Nevertheless, it's always nice to listen to his songs. I like his style, the slow-tempo songs, and the lyrics. This latest album still maintains his good quality of music plus some new elements too.

Another angel is spotted??

Jane Tan, or Ai Hwa, or J7, or you can call her Jasmine Girl 2006. Suddenly she became so hot among the local communities (photography) because of the Jasmine Girl Search event which she won the title. She's also the most popular candidate. Kudos!

Then I saw many people asking who is she?? Where does she come from? Etc, etc. Well, I also have no idea at all. I just happened to take her pix during the last day of the Jasmine Girl Search, when she received the crown. She's very photogenic with that sweet smile on her face. That's why she's the main shooting model for me.

So I made this little montage with her pix and posted in my Friendster page as the primary picture. Well, the idea is to show the pix, not misleading people that I'm her, ok? (See the profile info, it's MALE!) Perhaps her power is too strong, suddenly my profile being viewed by many people in a short period, and it's still counting. Hahaha! Some guys even tried to add me, without sending me a message whatsoever... Ewwwww...!!

She's really something, eh? Maybe the next big thing. Who knows? Hahaha~

Fairlady

Lately I'd been processing 2 pix of fairlady. 2 totally different picture.

I shot this one with E-1, just outside of the BMW showroom at the UOB building. It's V6-powered rear wheel drive Nissan Fairlady 350Z. Not sure it's a Z-tuned though. This car cost half a million here, and lately it's been famous because of the Fast & Furious movie. I took the shot and processed it with Photoshop, just wanna create some kinda poster feeling for the picture. =)

Yeah, this one also a fairlady, but it's super fair skin!! Hahah! I always know Jessica has a rather fairer skin compared to others, but I didn't know she is this fair, ya know. I'm not sure whether it was caused by the spotlight in the hall (PCFair) though. Anyway, I took this shot from a close distance. She has a sweet smile from this angle (according to her lah). Hahaha~

RIP to Crocodile Hunter

It's a sad day.

This morning I received a forwarded news from WongSifu. It's the news of the freak death of Steve Irwin, aka Crocodile Hunter. The funny fella who spent his life with wildlife animals and filming educational video for the worldwide audiences. It's a very sad news. I immediately sms my friend who always watch Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. He's a fans of Crocodile Hunter. We all feel sad for this accident.

Then I went to find out what the heck is a Stingray. How can it kill a man who survived from the various encounter with the ferocious animals on this planet. Well, to my suprise, it's actually the fish we order at Ikan Bakar stall...

Later in the evening, I thought of the remembrance for the crocodile hunter. So I put a turtle in my MSN personal text (at the back). After awhile, suddenly many people in my list put the turtle in their nicks! Turtle invasion!!

They did that for one particular reason, that is, as remembrance for Steve Irwin. It's a big loss. May he found his place in God's kingdom. Rest in peace. Amen.

Jasmine Girl Search 2006

After some discussion with ShinChan and other photo fellas, I decided to go visit Sg.Wang again for the Jasmine Girl Search. It's not only for the J7 girl anyway (hehe), but also support Christina, Claudia and Pearly for the hairstyle show. Well, since I had brought the E-1 home, might as well use it for these fashion events.

I took a free ride in Kev's car to Wangsa Maju LRT station, took the train to KL then walked to Sg.Wang. I saw the usual faces there - Ken, Geo, Chris, Phil, Wong, Jon, Jack, all photo-enthuasists. Then ShinChan came to join me, empty-handed. No T7, no w800i. Nothing. Hmm... Then I accompanied him to Fotokem to ask for the prices of DSLRs. Nothing is cheap there, really.

The Jasmine Girl Search only starts at 6pm. There were some other fashion events though. The first one (at 3pm) was a hairstyling show by the hairstylist Cindy Hor, who also worked for my company's magazine shoot. So I took out the camera to shoot. Then another suprise there! Since I already knew that Evonne's friend Ayumi gonna feature for the show, so it's no more a suprise to see her on stage demonstrating the hairstyle. But I gotta say she looks gorgeous with that hairstyle. Totally different from the mooncake brochure that features her. Hahah~ Then Evonne also came along to join us for awhile. She was waiting for Ayumi because of a casting later. As usual, I took pix for her & ShinChan. Doink.

Time for lunch in McD. ShinChan kept asking me about which DSLR to go for, but he got no cash. LMAO. After that, it's the A Cut Above academy show. Featuring student works and some presentation based on their "jungle theme". Christine told me her sis gonna feature in a fashion show today, so I bet that's the one. I prepared the camera and kept searching for that face... Bingo! Spotted! Bang! Heheh... Later can claim a meal from her liao. Hohoho~

The hairshow also featured Claudia, Christina and Pearly as the models. Too bad, only one of them spotted me in the crowd. Well, I didn't go find them after the show, because it was too crowded and screaming here and there. I just tried my best to get some decent shots for them and then ciao.

So finally it's the Jasmine Girl Search. It's nothing more than a result announcement time. They just let the girls introduce themselves once more. Good, so I can get the invidual shot of J7... ehm, the J Girls. Heheh... Then they just announced the winner of the Jasmine Girl Search Photography contest. Suprisingly, Ken won the 2nd prize! And Jon (who bought a DSLR just 1 week ago) got the grand prize. @#$@%X... =P

Now it's for the Jasmine girls prize. After 2 sub prize being announced, it's the winner of the contest itself. Who?? Hah, this time not so suprise, it's J7 Jane Tan Ai Hwa. The sweetest girl among all contestants! Well actually I came for her only, after I saw the pix from Kev and Viper. The other contestants were not as "shining" as her. =)

Finally the event had ended. It's time for dinner. Well, it's too early for dinner actually, but this time it's different. I will be joining ShinChan and Angelica for dinner! LOL. It's bad to be lamp post, but ShinChan had agreed to fetch me home, so I mah join them for dinner loh. Hohoh~ It's my first time get to know Angelica personally. As usual, she's always with that angel smile on her cute face and looks shy shy. Heh. I didn't know she speaks Cantonese as well, so we were speaking very local Canto slang throughout the dinner in some HK style restaurant at BB Plaza. It was another fun dinner, a laughter every 2 minute. Hahah!

After we sent Angelica back to her working place, we went to TimeSquare to get the car to go home. Yeah, my home first. ShinChan fetch. Nice! Hahah! It's good to see him improved his driving skill. It's getting stable and steady on the road, even though it's slow... LOL. Then he also came to my place to get the pictures (RAW) from my camera for his blog. Hah, just don't know when will he blog about this day eh?

Viper the Pizza Boss

It's been a while since I last seen Viper in action. That fella was busy with his final exam, then convo, then searching job, then... now he is here to treat us with his 1st month salary! Woo~!

He found a job in Bukit Bintang area and often hang around with ShinChan now. Because his office is close to KLCC, it's a good idea to ask him go checking out those events/fairs/exhibition at the Convention Centre for me. Hehehe... Seems like his interest in Photography hasn't been faded, and he is still aiming for a DSLR to shoot with us (especially Kev got his S3 IS now). Today he'd shoot the Jasmine Girl Search 2006 in Sg.Wang, with ShinChan's "abandoned" T7. He kept complaining about that camera's poor image quality. LOL~

So here we are, at the Pizza Hut. Ordered a meal for 4 and enjoyed a dinner with laughter and ideas. It's always nice to have a break from works and relax lunch/dinner with friends. Today I had some real fun with them.

Louis Koo @ OSIM

It's my 1st time to see Louis Koo Tin Lok in such close distance. I should be very excited eh?? Hmm... Yeah I feel so, but not to the extend I used to be few years ago. Maybe I'm getting older... or maybe he is getting older...??

It's a press conference regarding the latest massage chair from OSIM. He is the ambassador for the Asia market. Because of him, the press conference (except the introduction) was conducted in Cantonese! Hahah, you don't see that often in local society. Another strange thing is that, even it's Saturday, but most of the attendees were female... Hmm...

The guy was quite funny actually. It looks like he's very experienced with these interviews. Whenever there's a good point, he will mention about the product/brand name in a funny way. Even though the focus was mostly on him, but he didn't forget about his job and responsibility there. I respect him for that professionalism, especially he was (physically) sick throughout the entire press conference. Kudos, Koo Zai.

I got a press kit with OSIM free stuff. Took almost 100 pix from the event. But I missed the other event in Sg.Wang. Haih. Luckily Kev, ShinChan and Viper were there to cover the event. The OSIM event was delayed by unknown reason anyway. It was raining at that time. I was late, but didn't expect to be considered "early" for the opening. LOL~ There's a "Meet the Fans" session in KLCC at 7pm, but I couldn't bother much even though I can register as Press and get close to the stage. Nah...

Honda MME Roadshow @ 1U

Finally a break for me after the rushing week. I had applied leave on Monday, just to make my break time longer. Haha. It's supposed to be a resting weekend, but there're some events going on around town... So I'd borrowed the camera from office and joined the gang for some shooting in KL.

At 12pm, Kev and I went out to 1U for the Honda MME Roadshow. I was expecting to meet Jessica there after I saw her picture being posted by some forummers. Hah! Before we start shooting at the Honda roadshow, we took a short visit to the Gadget Fair in 1U. Then I saw a familiar face at the D-Link booth. It's Evonne's friend, Grace. I took a shot of her and Evonne but had yet to send to her. So I asked her about the picture and thankfully she still remember that. Hahah~ I passed my online contact to her and promised to send her the pix. But somehow, I forgot to take her pix in the Gadget Fair??!! LOL~

Back to Honda roadshow. I saw Jessica and also her colleague, TingLih, which coincidently, is my coursemate Zeval's friend as well. So I talked to her about the video and picture. Thankfully (again) she remembered the clip. Hah! Then Jessica invited us to join their lunch break. They need to do proper make-up before letting us shoot. Hahah~!

We had lunch (only the girls) in HK style restaurant. After some introduction, we get on well with our own activities... The girls busy eating, we busy shooting. Hahah! Well, like the girls said, as long as the pix look good, they will be fine with it. Heh, so I just keep taking (good) pix for them loh~ We'd spent an hour chatting there. Then they went back to continue their giving-out-flyers job. Kev and I also took out our gears and start shooting. 3 civics were on display there. One of them is the replica of the MME Race Car which won the Class D for 4 consecutive years! Wooow! Go go Civic! Then the other two Civics came with the official Modulo bodykits which costs about Rm5k!!! @_@

Happy Holiday...

Today is Independence Day, aka Merdeka Day. BIG public holiday. Everyone went to countdown on the eve and celebrate happily. Even the rempits were brave enough to show off their super duper bakchee stunt on the MRR2 just because it's Merdeka. But sadly to say, I didn't celebrate it at all. Well, I couldn't. I was working on the eve till 10pm, then went back to office to work on Thursday. Pathetic, KerLian, Kesian... Yeah, I heard alot of those. Thanks. Well I do get a replacement leave after this, so I'm ok with it. Chillz~

I'm not a patrioctic fella. I don't really celebrate Merdeka. Not during this dark age. Crimes everywhere, people living in fear of motorcyclist and police, collapsing flyover, expensive expenses, unclear future... I think not only me, but most of us can feel that there's not much to celebrate for now. Better put the money of fireworks for something more useful.

WCG 2006

Today I plan to visit the WCG 2006, the annual game event which just shifted its location to KL Convention Centre. That's one of the reason of my visit. Beside, I had promised my colleague (who worked in the event) to help taking pictures for the event coverage purpose.

It's not as BIG as I expected. Nothing new, same old stories. Even the cosplayers are getting lesser nowadays, not to mention the pretty promo girls?? Hahah... Well, I got the press pass from my colleague and start shooting pix for the magazine. I entered the gaming competition area as well. The amount of the computers are... amazing.

After my shooting assignment, I also brought out the IXUS for my own pictures. I stayed there for one hour or so, then left the event and went to KL there to visit my friend who FFK me... You know who, if you're reading this... Heheh...

DCM TT

This is my first ever attendance to DCM TT, which held by our company's website forummers. It's supposed to be a gathering of the hobbyists in photography, but it turned out to be some sort of photo shooting session of some ladies over there... Well, I'm not that enthuasiastic about this gathering, plus I (always) have to rush for magazine works during end of months, so I didn't attend the first two TT session. Now it's the 3rd one. I accompanied my colleague and followed my ex-colleague (road guide) to Aman Suria for the gathering.

My first time at Aman Suria. Saw lotsa Japanese sports cars there. I think this might be the popular gathering spot of those car fans? Not only the heavily modded monster cars, but I also saw a Honda NSX!! Wooo! Such rare car!

When we went up to the upper floor, I saw many "photographers" keep shooting on a lady. It feels like some kinda celebrity press conference there...! Wow. Scary. Darren (my ex-colleague) and I sat at the back and ordered our meals. Then we just sat there and talked ourselves. Then Ron Christopher came to greet us. Man, he looks like Daniel Chan, another lengzai. Hahah! After that, some of the familiar faces like Ken, Geo and Chris also came to greet us and chitchat.

We stayed there till 12am and left. I followed Sen (colleague) to Subang to get my car and then ciao all the way home. Nice chat with the guys. =)

PCFair 2006 (II) - Day 2

Day 2. As usual, this time I went with Kev and ShinChan, both also equipped with digicam. ShinChan used the E-1 from me, and Kev brought his newly bought PowerShot IS S3. They went there for one purpose - shoot! So I just followed them around to take pictures. I purposely brought the 50mm F2 ED Macro lens for some testing shots there. In the end, I used the lens to shoot ants...!! Take a look on the macro shot with imaginative dialogue...

We'd been spending hours for hanging around the fair and chatting with the working friends there. It's a tired walk. I didn't shoot much today, but still feel the tiredness. After SC left, Kev and I took a rest on the bench just outside of the convention centre. I actually fall asleep there!!

We went to greet Jessica before leaving. Talked to her for awhile and then re-entered the hall to look for Evonne. Finally found her at the booth. She was about to go for dinner break. So we joined her and Chris for a break at the cafeteria there. Kev left after that, and I had to stay and wait for Fire. While waiting, I used the 50mm lens to try various shots on Evonne and Chris. Got some weird results. Hahah~ =D

Finally meet up with Fire and bought our stuffs. Then we took LRT back to Wangsa Maju for dinner. It was really a tired day for me, so I called off the Day 3 visit and gave myself a very nice rest. Zzz...

PCFair 2006 (II) - Day 1

Well there's not much to expect from PCFair II. I bought my comp already, just need to buy some CDR. Other than that, I can't really find a good reason to visit there 3 times again. Visiting friends (work in PCFair) and taking pictures are the only reasons I guess. Hahah...

I followed the Boss to visit PCFair on Friday. Bring along his expensive full frame DSLR for some picture coverage. Heh, it's always nice to shoot with that camera. Also can learn more about the control. Anyway, it wasn't a smooth trip actually because we had to spend for more than 30mins in the full carpark!!! Boss was rush for appointment, so I just brought the cam and entered the fair myself. Well I always expect to meet some friends in PCFair. This time it was Wong Sifu who called me when I was on the escalator. Hahaa~

It was so freaking crowded in the first hall. Hardly can move around, not to mention taking good pictures. Well I had experienced this before, so it wouldn't be a problem to me. Furthermore I was actually working there - taking pix for magazine. Thankfully I managed to get some shots from the major booths. I wanna take shot of Jessica at Epson, but couldn't find her...? Must be out to lunch. So I called her and finally met her at the other side. Then had to follow her back to the first hall to take her pix. LOL.

Then I met Rose at the other hall. She was working for Toshiba this time. She told me she got quite a connection with those red and white uniform. From Toyota, Denso, Marlboro to Toshiba, all also in red and white uniform. Hahaha. Well, can't really find a familiar face there, so I went down to the ground level to look for others.

When I was wondering around Hall 1 & 2 to look for OKI booth, I bumped into Angelica! Wooo, the smiling angel... must take pix!! Hahah. So I went up to approach and say I'm ShinChan's friend, then wanna take her pix to show him later. Blah blah blah. Hehe, managed to get a shot of her. Nice! =D

Finally found Evonne's OKI booth at Hall 2, just near the exit to Hall 4. She was wearing white jacket with a cute looking hairstyle. Then she introduced her friend Chris to me. I stayed there for some talks and also photo shooting with both of them. Hmm, guess it must look weird for me to do this in PCFair?? Hahaha... When I take pictures for certain promo girls, their boss actually asked me what's the purpose. So I said it's for magazine coverage. Then I heard someone said "Woo, this guy is a reporter lah..." LOL~!

Finally meet up with Everdying in PCFair after a long time. Talked to him for awhile and also asking him to take pix for me and Jessica. He failed anyway. LOL. I guess the 1Ds is too complicated to him. After that, it's bye bye time. Back to office and copy over the pictures for processing. Well most of the pictures will be used for magazine, which means I can hardly post any pix from today's visit. Ish...

Small world

It's really a small world. The girls you met in KLIMS could be your friend's friends. And this happens just like that. Lately I only realised that two sweet looking girls from KLIMS are actually my coursemate Zeval's friends. Even though I don't know the two girls, I still feel the "links" between each individual is very interesting.

Or maybe I'm getting more friends lately, and that's why the world has become smaller and smaller to me?? Hah~

There's also this case. One day my net friend pop up in MSN and asked me "Hey you know Chris ar? I saw the photo you took for her. Very nice. She is my jimui." Hahah! Now I only know she is my friend's friend. Even Chris also suprised when I told her about this. I think maybe it's like Friendster. =)

Fire's meal at The Chicken Rice Shop

It's Fire's birthday (again). I thought of a karaoke session to celebrate with him since we both also eager to sing in karaoke, but too bad it seems quite hard to gather a bunch of interested friends to join us. So in the end, it's down to the most common and boring plan... dinner with him. LOL. Kenji & I left the choice to him to decide what to go for (of course, we got limited budget). Don't know where the heck he got this idea - The Chicken Rice Shop.

So we went to Kepong Jusco (after I searched the shop online) to have our first taste on The Chicken Rice Shop. So, what do have here... Hmm... Chicken Rice. LOL. What else could it be?? It looks sienz because I always have one of these during my lunch breaks. I even eat it till the extent that the KaiFun Boss already knew my order. Everytime just nod and he will prepare for me. LOL.

I let them order the meals. It looks ok to me. I just worry the bill. I can pay that, but I know the amount is multiply of the normal chicken rice... I rather have Pizza. But nah, it's his birthday, and we should try out something new sometimes... So, lets enjoy the meal!

The taste is not bad, but it doesn't have SiuYork (pork), and that's a huge disappointment in KaiFun!! Hah... Well since this is not a food blog, so I will make it short. This shop is meant for other races (because of Halal). I think normal Kaifun stall will have better satisfaction than this.

KL Photography Festival

Just found out this event from the fella photographers. They shifted the location to the Selangor Chinese Hall (something like that) which is abit unconvenient to reach compare to the usual venue at KL Plaza. Well just realised that I'd attended the previous occasions, so why should I miss this one?? Kev and I decided to pay a visit to this festival together. It's time to test his newly bought Powershot S3 IS, while I might be able to find the compatible lens cap for the E1 lens which lost by ShinChan. Damn him.

As expected, met the familiar faces (fella photograhers) over there. Since there will be a model shooting session, I bet most of the photographers came for that particular purpose. I took my time to test the Sony Alpha DSLR, and also played with several 10k+ Canon DSLR there. Couldn't find the lens cap though, because the shop didn't bring it out to sell. Haih...

Strangely I didn't have much interest to join the shootout (after seeing the faces...), but I'd urged Kev to try out the IS feature on his cam, just to see how effective it is. Throughout the shootout, I just shot a few shots, then kacau the fella photographers here and there. Caught them in action with pictures! Hahaha. Also tried out the Lumix L1 kit lens with OIS on E1. Well there's not much difference in image quality, but the Image Stabilizer sure helps in low light/indoor shooting. =)

After I bid farewell to boss and co, we went to Sg.Wang area to look for our stuffs. I managed to buy the lens cap from Foto Shangrila after several enquiries! Finally get to cover the lens with a cap again. Hahaha... Then we had dinner in Pizza Hut. Found it weird that the restaurant was filled with Angmos...!!

Fixing my car

It's been almost a year since I got my Civic from my bro. I'd been caring for my ride ever since. Regular maintenance, refill water, tyre pressure, fixing lamps and so on. Even though it's 12-years-old 2 door hatchback, but I'd told myself that I'm gonna driving this Non-VTEC EG6 for as long as I can. =)

Lately been busy fixing components for my EG. First it was the door lock mechanism. It produced some grinding sound whenever I lock my door (passenger seat). This is bad. Because my car has that auto-lock door system whenever the rev reaches 1.5k. So... the grinding sound can never be avoided. Must be fixed!

2ndly it was the lower-arm/steering hub/some components that produce the "gweekkkkkk" sound whenever I do a low speed turning. My Dad feels that it's time to get rid of that problem, so I just sent my car to fix it during my off day. Till now I also don't know how to call that particular components. Well, at least now I hear no more weird sound.

What's more "potong steam" when you're cruising on highway, your car dashboard shakes like shits? Yeah, at first I thought wheel balancing was needed because they took out my tyres when replacing that lower-arm/steering hub thingy... But it's far worse than that!! My sports rims actually bend!! Damn. Must be those lousy road holes and roadbumps as well. Can you imagine we got big holes on the highway?? Especially speedlane?? Curse them.

Besides all these major fixings, my car also went through the minor treatments like replacing lightbulbs, cleaning the water tank, refilling lubricant oils for steering and clutch, replace the tyre knobs (locking the tyres from removing), etc. Hah, it's not easy to maintain a car eh?? Luckily my Dad helped me alot on these. Now I'm getting slowly to learn more about these. =D

Now my car is running smoothly and quietly, and freaking stable even at 140km/h... Wow! Go, go, EG!

KL Audio Video Show 2006

Suppose to visit this AV (not Adult Video!) fair with Kevin, but he couldn't make it. So I went to J.W. Marriot Hotel alone with the IXUS camera. The admission is Rm10, with some small doorgifts and a lucky draw. Hahah, as if I'm gonna win it?? Nah. I was there for 2 reasons - Visiting the fair for the 1st time, and pay a visit to my friend who's working there for the fair.

I'd been to this exhibition hall before for the LG press conference. It's quite special because the hall is in basement! But then, what's even more surprising, they used the hotel rooms for the AV fair!! Each room is like a small showroom for different company to showcase their products. Wow!

Ever heard of Wall Speakers?? Well, me neither. Take a look at this. The promo paper says the sound is flatter and more smoother for the ears. Hmm...?

As expected, all these AV system are not cheap. A single set will cost you from Rm2k to whooping Rm50k!! @_@

Well it's kinda boring because most of the products are the same. Can't really blame them because this is AV fair. Still, feel like opening my eye sight with those highend bombastic & gigantic LCD TV and Plasma TV, not to forget the bassy surround sound system. Very nice to have one if you enjoy those ciname feels at home. Heh, luckily I already got one at home which can play 6.1 surround sound on DVD, PS2 and even Karaoke! Wahaha~

Oh yah, I think I spent most of my time wondering at my friend's booth. Even got the free pop corn and drink there! Heheh. I saw some familiar faces around that area, the only area with eye candy for the visitors!

Not the best fair I'd visited, but whatever, I had fun there. =)

30th Bon Odori

I've never been to Bon Odori before. Only read the news report on paper and saw the pix taken by local photographers. Finally, I got the chance to visit this Japanese Festival with Fire and Aiyume. SC supposed to join us but he FFK by complaining about the hot weather. Lame.

With Aiyume leading the way, we managed to reach in time to the Matsushita Stadium, located somewhere in Shah Alam. (No idea how to go there again!) We parked near the mainroad and had to walk a long distance to reach the destination. It's a hot day, and we get even hotter upon the entry to the field which filled with Japaneses. Yeah, it's quite easy to spot a true Japanese at this place. They are friendly and welcome for any photo snapping. Sugoii!

The food stalls were crowded, even though the foods were expensive. Fire did try the Tako Yaki, Rm6 for 6... balls. Not the best meal you can get, but whatever. We walked around the food stalls and snapped a couple shots. I took quite alot on the Japanese without them noticing at all. Hehe... After an hour or so, we found ourselves a place to sit down and relax. I'd called Vyruz and wait for his arrival.

The festival starts at 7pm with some CEO giving a long speech. Then it's the dancing time. Surprisingly, most of the people on the field were dancing together. What a scene! I was busy taking pix around the stage. Then I spotted Ringo on the field, wearing a Yukata. LOL! Well I guess she was too busy snapping around, so I didn't bother her that much. When I walked around the field to shoot, I met Jenni too! That's a surprise to meet her out of nowhere! Hahaha. She was with her friends, visiting the festival for a short while. As usual, I took her pix. Heh.

The festival will carry on till 9.30pm, but I couldn't stay there any longer. Phone line can't get through, easily lost track of your buddy, and it's getting hotter and hotter! We decided to leave at 8.30pm and look for a Pizza Hut to settle our dinner. At last we found ourselves an available Pizza Hut in Subang SS15.

Tokyo Drift

Fire had seen it in cinema, but he still invite me and Kenji for this movie. He just loves this series. Since 3 of us are into cars, so I think it would be a brilliant idea if we can watch it together. After the busy weeks, we decided to go 1U GSC for the movie tonight. Thanks to Fire's friend who bought the tickets for us.

After I off from work, I used LDP to reach 1U. Luckily there was only minor jam near Subang area. After that it's one smooth trip to the complex. Before the movie, I was supposed to have dinner with a friend who's working in 1U. In the end, we ended up talking instead of eating. Hahah! I went up to the cinema floor to meet up with Fire and Kenji. Bought some foods and went in to enjoy the 3rd movie from Fast and Furious series.

Nothing mucb to talk about the movie plot. Very ordinary. But the drifting stunts are nice to see. Pretty enjoy the street drifting, and the drift machines like EVO, Silvia, 350Z. I still remember last time I know nothing about the cars in FnF series. Now I almost recognize every drift car in the movie... Hahaha!

After the movie show, we decided to do a little convoy on our journey by using another route. Fire will lead us with his kancil, followed by Kenji's Satria and my Civic. I wanna take this opportunity to know more roads in KL. Haha! It's smooth in the beginning. After we reached the highway, I overtook them both for fun, didn't really expect them to overtake me instantly and cruising all the way!! Wahahah! These 2 crazy fellas! I'd tried my best to catch up with them, and it's pretty fun to do that. Hahah! Well, too bad we can't drift with our cars, else it could be KL Drfit! LOL!

We parted in half way and I followed Fire to my way home. It's a fun night and I'll look forward to more convoys like this! Hahaha!

iFEEL Girls

It's 2 day in a row for the first iFEEL Girl Search in Sg.Wang, organised by iFEEL Mag which is under Astro. That's why the exposure of the event is quite high. You can see the ads on Astro, Mag, and even Radio (MyFM also under Astro). So I think this "Girl Search" is another kind of pageant which focus more on youth and trendy. That's what attracted me. Of course, I'm enthusiastic about it because I got 2 finalist friends. =)

Saturday was the rehearsal for the final, so it's playing game and freebies time. The girls performed the fashion catwalk and fitness dancing. I managed to get a few shots for Christina and Jenni. They were tired for the show because need to rehearsal till 2am!! Wooo...

On Sunday, I went to Sg.Wang for the Final with SC, Fire & Vyruz. All heavily equipped with shooting gears just for one purpose - Shoot the girls! Hahaha! I was abit greedy because I wanna cover the event with both pictures and video. In the end I asked Fire to help me record the show with my Sony Camcorder. I knew I made a mistake here. The video probably will be very hard to edit, because he's not familiar with it. But what to do? Blame my greediness. Luckily my pictures came out ok, still got some decent pix from the whole event. Christina and Jenni also like the shots. Hmm, I always face this situation (video and picture). Next time I shall concentrate on just one medium, or maybe start training my fella for taking better picture/video.

The show starts with fitness dancing. Then it's introduction, fashion catwalk, group performances. Christina was in the singing group, whereas Jenni did the magic performances. All the girls need to design their own iFEEL shirt. Haha, gotta say the organiser is either too crazy or demands too much from them!

After several hours of the talking and performances, we finally got the result. Surprisingly, Christina didn't make it into the Top 3. That's a big disappointment to us. Jenni got the 1st runner up, and I bet even herself can't believe that either. Haha, she did perform well for the individual part. She even got the huge group of supporters. The winner of the 1st ever iFEEL Girl Search is Goh Yen Yen. That's exactly my prediction because she performed very well throughout the show. She got the "oohmmp" as an iFEEL girl. =)

After the show, I went to consolidate Christina. She hugged me like a little sis. Hah, it's just a contest, no big deal. I know how capable she is, and I'll support her too. Maybe she just needs some experiences before winning something big. Go go Christina! =)

Evonne also came to support Jenni. We're happy for her success. Jenni couldn't spend the dinner time with us, so we took a few pix together before she left. She's tired but excited because she got her dream Taipei trip for free!! Hahah! Lucky girl! =D

One thing that I didn't expect at all after the show. I get to know the Winner (YenYen), 2nd runner up (Angi) and also Katherine after the event...! All thanks to Internet and my 280 px of pictures. Hahah~

Evonne's Shoot

My 1st ever indoor studio model shoot. Had to take care of everything in the whole shooting process. From lighting setup, backdrop, reflectors, camera, computer (for display the result instantly), and of course, the model. Well I myself also got no idea who's gonna be my first ever model, the one who is willing to offer her valuable time for my practise shoot. Hah, I guess it's the help of a nice timing? It's her...

Evonne didn't have a full studio session before, and so was I. We were laughing during the whole shoot by making fun of each other. It's a nice experience I must say, a very good start indeed. Since we got no communication problem, I can focus more on the lighting setup and the shooting matters. From this shoot, I also faced the common problems such as bad lighting angle, lack of idea on posing, shooting angle, etc. A good lesson to me.

We started the shooting from 8pm, and ended at 11.30pm...!! That's very late. Blame my poor time management. Luckily Evonne doesn't really mind about that, and I had promised to fetch her home. We managed to shoot with all dresses on 2 different backdrop. Tried some different ideas too. We both enjoyed the shoot alot! I'd taken about 400-500 pix and all in 16MB RAW files! Hahah, but it was fun, no doubt about it. =)

Thanks to my boss for lending me the studio and camera for practise purpose, and also Evonne BB Vamp to be my model. This is a very good experience to me and hopefully a good start to my studio shoot. Thanks! =D

What's the meaning of this word? I have no idea until the search result from online dictionary. Just bumped into this word during a Fujitsu notebook launching event in Westin Hotel. I followed my boss to attend this event as a photo-snapper. Taking a break from works and experience something new!

The event is quite straightforward. Some introduction by the chief and designer, then it's the ballade dancing (???). After that strange opening, it's the models time. 4 models dressing up as different roles, each one posing with the latest ultra slim and powerful Fujitsu notebooks. But who cares? I got no budget for any notebook, that's why I rather concentrate on taking better pix with the models. Oh yah, saw a familiar face among the models and one of them is my friend actually. Guess who?? =)

Meet Jenni

First met Jenni was the 2nd visit to KLIMS. She's the showgirl for Modenas, promoting something for the bike. I missed out on her during the 1st visit. After reviewing the pictures taken by other people, I decided to go visit that section again just to take her pix.

She's a friendly girl with one of the best smile that can melt people. I think many will agree with me especially after I posted her pictures in my photo gallery. So I managed to get her shots during the last 3 visits to KLIMS. On the last day, Kev asked me for her picture and wanted to pass her a copy of the pix. So he printed a 4R pix for her, but didn't dare to approach her. LOL. Then Vyruz and I just urged him to settle the matter fast. I also talked to her that time, but she was busy so we didn't talk much. Kev only got her email contact. Well, I don't really think people will reply email one lah...

Well, looks like our luck isn't that bad after all. Our beloved BB Vamp Evonne actually knows Jenni, even earlier than KLIMS time. Then we'd suggested for a photoshoot with both of them together. Guess what? Jenni agreed. LOL. Then I managed to get her MSN contact and our friendship actually starts from there. Get to know her more through online chat. =)

Then Vyruz suggested for a meet up before the photoshoot. It's in Mid Valley, just one day after he got his Nikon D70s. Haha, so Jenni will be her first ever model. I came out early that day and be the first one to wait for them. Then Jenni came greeting me. We talked alot while waiting for Vyruz to come. It looks like she's another girl who has interest in photography, but no chance to really learn the art. Hahah, guess I shall let her and Evonne explore the fun of photography during our photoshoot.

We had a short lunch in Burger King because she was rushing for other appointment. Even though she was about to be late, but she still agree to allow us to take some pictures in MV. Well I really admire that "generousity", but just feel bad for her late attendance to the next appointment. Hahah, we accompany her to the carpark and even took pictures over there! LOL!

BB Vampire

Well it's the after-effect of KLIMS. My photo thread in LYN had been robbed off by some buaya and spammer just because this little notty girl had came in to join the talk. LOL.

Met Evonne far earlier than KLIMS actually. She's ShinChan's friend. I even took pix for them before. During KLIMS, I went to shoot her pix for SC. Then on the 3rd visit (last Sat of KLIMS), we talked alot and this girl actually took my DSLR and went on to shoot her colleagues... Haha! So from there, I know she's quite interested in photography. My cam was not the 1st she robbed I think... Hah! On the last day I also visited her and took some of her shots when she was doing the Hyundai presentation. Since Vyruz also knew her, so we just stayed there for awhile and let her played with our cams.

Coincidently, we met again after her working hour. She was on her way to visit the exhibition, whereas we were heading to other hall for more shooting. That time we also took some pictures together. Well she was quite friendly and never afraid of taking our cams to play whenever she got the chance... Hmm, shall we call this attitude as "aggressive"?? Wahahaa~

After KLIMS, I think she managed to get into my photo gallery thread in LYN through herself or SC. Then she started to post her pictures and joined our talks. Since she's such a cute little girl with charming dimples on her face, it's only a matter of time that my thread will be bombarded by the buayas and spammers. LOL.

In the end, I had to open a new thread just for her and her admirers to rant over there. Well my initial idea was to open a thread for her to post up her photo, but then again, with the buayas around, it's expected to be totally off topic. Hmm... Well, I'll just look forward to let her try out real photography someday since she really has interest in it. Maybe a photoshoot with her will take place soon!

By the way, for some reason, now she calls me as her "Daddy". Hmm... Am I that old looking?? Hahaa! xD

Bro's wedding dinner

After the wedding ceremony day, it's the wedding dinner! Well, for some reason, we had to split the wedding process into 2 days. Actually this might be a good idea, because we will have more time to prepare everything in order to make this a great wedding. We'd prepared to do our best for them.

Again, I will be the photographer, and I asked Kev and Ed to be my videographer for this whole night event. Thanks to my editor Philip, I managed to borrow the Canon 30D DSLR (courtesy of Canon Malaysia) and his 580EX Speedlite for this dinner shoot. Plus the 3GB CF cards for 400 RAW images! It's the 1st time I shoot wedding dinner. I intended to get as many great shots as possible, for my bro and his wife.

We all started shooting at the entrance before the dinner starts. I saw some familiar faces, most of them are my childhood neighbours. It's quite suprise that some of them still recognize me. Hahahah! Some unexpected faces also shown up too. My bro and I were in shock for awhile. Haha... But then, (according to Kev) we didn't see much lenglui anyway. Aiks... =P

Then the dinner was about to start. I had to shoot the entry ceremony in low light situation. Without hesitation I simply bang the shots with flash and hopefully can get the one I want. (Luckily I did!) At that time the restaurant was playing the entry song that I mixed for my bro. It's the English Premier League theme song with my own mixing. Too bad they fail to playback it according to the timing I adjusted. Damn them.

After the talking and "yumseng" ceremony, it's working time for us. I had to skip the dinner to help taking pictures everywhere. I had to follow my Dad and Mum to each table to take pictures of their friends. Kev and Ed will be taking video from there. After awhile, I had to switch side frequently, just to avoid missing out any table. It was a tired task for me, but I learned alot from this experience.

So the dinner ends with happy voices everywhere. Everyone look enjoyed alot. My bro was pretty high and kept challenging people for a drink. Luckily my Dad was ok till the end, even though he also drank alot. We settled the account with the restaurant and then start packing our stuffs. The people were still singing karaoke after 11pm. I just kept shooting till the very last image. After that, it's time to go home. The time is almost 12am. LOL.

A tired day for me, but feeling is nice and significant. Congratz to my bro for this successful dinner. And thanks to all the helps from Kev and Ed, my bro's fella friends and also our helpful relatives. =D

Bro's wedding day

6-6-6, the number that people are talking about. It's today, 6th of June in 2006. And it's the day of my brother Steven's wedding day. Oh yah!

Bro has been planned for this since last year, with his beloved wife and us. It's been a busy month in May because we need to settle many things mainly the wedding day and also the dinner. I once thought my bro will skip alot of those traditional ceremony because he always don't care much. Well he didn't. He followed most of the rules and traditions that told by the experts here. Hah, I guess he just wanna compromise to make everyone happy, and also wish his own marriage will be the best one. =)

Finally the day has come. Today I'll be the camera-man (video camera), following my bro and his gang to the bride's house. My bro's gang are all from primary school and high school, and I knew most of them. So they just discuss the shooting process with me and we intended to make this video shooting a funny one. I started the video recording in morning. I'd interviewed everyone that accompanies my bro for this challenging trip. Some of them gave the funny comments. Hahah! After we prepared everything, it's time to go to my sister-in-law's house in Subang.

By the time we reached the destination, it's about 10am. It's getting hot. To our suprise, the first "stage" was being held at the outside gate. Our gang was like "WTF?". It was damn hot outside and they (the "sisters") wanna play those tormental games outside, under the hot sun?? Siao. I got no choice, but just to capture the entire progress in video with them. Anyway, I feel glad that I'm the photographer/videographer, because I no need to join the gang to eat/drink those disgusting stuffs prepared by the "sisters". Oh my.

After some funny and ugly games, they still not open the door for us. Then out of nowhere, someone suggested to lift the gate because it got no locking knob. Haha, and they just lifted it up like that and went in like Chinese Heroes. LOL! Then we went upstair to the outside of the bride's room, answering some Q&A regarding the bride. Somemore need to sing Liverpool's song?? LOL. I was busy recording the video, so didn't bother much. My bro was really good on answering those questions though, so it's the lesser torment to his gang by drinking some ugly soup. Oh my.

Finally my bro get to see the bride and continue the ceremony in the house. I took a break at the outside and help taking some pictures and video. After that, it's time to go home. Again, we went separately with different cars. I felt damn sleepy, so just slept in the car. Hahaha...

There's some more ceremony to do in my house, with our relatives. Dad and Mum look very happy today and I'm glad for my bro too. We had a warmth afternoon and even drink some wine (not me) after all the works. I was busy taking the pix and video, then only got my lunch and sweet sleeping time. Tired, but happy. =)

KLIMS Day 4

I was wondering shall I go again, on the last day... Is there something that I missed? Is there anything else to do in the exhibition?? These questions were in my mind during the whole morning. I really don't know why shall I be going there again... @_@ I called Patty. She's visiting the motorshow with her colleagues. Was thinking to join her and help taking pix for her. Then she told me she already left the exhibition because there wasn't much thing to see. Ehm... #_#

Well it's down to the last reason... It's this guy, Vyruz, from LowYat forum. I don't really know him in person, but he's been posting in my gallery thread for quite sometime. Then I met him in person on Friday, during my visit with Boss. He's a young guy who just fall into digital photography. That day he was using a 50mm lens on Nikon D70. Not bad, really. We've been chatting for sometime and he would like to shoot together with me on this last day of KLIMS. Hmm... After some consideration, I decided to go again. I like to exchange camera with him and shoot with D70 for once. =)

Kev has no problem (wahlao eh...) to visit KLIMS again. So once again we go together at noon. We parked the car at the same place, a free parking at the shop lot area. The distance is quite far from the exhibition hall, but nah, it's nothing at all. I love to walk. Hahah... Then we went in again and finally meet up with Vyruz. Well I think it's better to call him Vyruz here instead of his real name. It sounds cool. Hahah! Then we exchanged camera and start shooting together.

It's the first time I actually shoot with D70, the camera that I planned to get for my digital photography hobby. It's NIKON, my favourite brand in camera. When I start shooting pictures with the camera, I had lost abit of enjoymeny... This camera is so light and the handling is not as good as I thought. Hmm, maybe I used too many DSLRs, so now I can easily differentiate the gripping and handling of the camera to my preference. This camera is no doubt a good cam (for beginner), but I still prefer the heavy feel of a 30D or D200, or even a E-1. It feels more solid and responsive. Hmm... Ok lets try its shooting capability.

Vyruz's D70 is actually office's unit. It means the camera had been used by countless people for countless occasions. The camera feels like a tormented toy. Some of the display is incorrect, and the metering and focusing... #_# Well, it's still a DSLR. As long as it can get picture, then I have no problem with it. I used the 2GB CF to shoot in Nikon RAW format. Suprisingly, the filesize is alot smaller than other RAM formats. This is really good!

We wandered around the hall and keep shooting. It's always fun to shoot with your friends because it brings out inspiration on your shooting, especially the composition and ideas. And there's one more benefit - your friend can help you take picture! Hahah... Thanks to Vyruz, I get to take pix with my friends on the last day. =)

I intended to get some freebies and stuffs on the last day, whether a poster or ASIMO doll (damn expensive!). Too bad, most of my ambassador friends couldn't get me anything because they don't have! Only managed to get a poster (thanks to Kev), some brochures and a Honda notepad, thanks to the ASIMO robot girl, Jessica. Hahah...

So it's farewell time to KLIMS. Today is the last day, but it doesn't look like the last day 3 years ago. It's quiet, lesser people, and lesser ambassadors too. I wonder what went wrong... After the motorshow, we went to nearby McD for our dinner with Vyruz. It's nice to meet a new friend who share the same interest and hobby. He's a nice guy too. Haha, perhaps this is the best freebies from KLIMS?? A new friend. =D

It's a fun week in KLIMS. During the 10 days exhibition, I get to visit it 4 times. Met alot of friends in there, whether the working ambassadors or the shooting visitors. Learned something from the shooting experiences too. Then, also met a new friend in Vyruz and also some other girls. Got tons of picture and a short video footage. Saw the famous ASIMO and superchun Concept Car. Paid nothing for the entrance. Got the free refreshments. Yeeeeh~

Like Kev said, I like KLIMS! Look forward to the next one! =D

KLIMS Day 3

It's weekend again, which means it's the KLIMS visit day. Hahah, I really make good use of the Press Pass, don't I? Today I supposed to go with Kev, ShinChan and Viper... duh. That fella's in KL, but refused to join us because he will be going with his girl friend. Duh.

We met ShinChan at the entrance. A very crowded entrance I must say. As usual, I went in using the exhibitor's entrance. Then I passed the E-1 to ShinChan, because I promised to let him shoot using the DSLR. Too bad he couldn't get a D50 in time for this event. So today I will be shooting video instead of pictures. This should be a good practise for my next week big project. Hah! Kev also brought both DV and DC, and he's gonna shoot using both again! LOL!

Today met some photo gangs again. It's very hard not to meet up with them actually, because they almost visit it everyday! (Cyn told me) Wooo, enthuasiast for the cars or girls?? Hmm... SC was quite nervous to shoot with a DSLR, as he has no idea on the camera setting to get the best pictures. I set the setting for him with external flash unit on. Given him some idea on how to shoot, and there he goes... Keep on shooting and shooting, without even think of composition. So most of the pix came out ok, but boring. Hahah!

It's the my 3rd visit to KLIMS, so basically there's nothing much to see. I went to check out something that I missed from previous visit, such as ICE, RIMs, and Engines. Too bad I missed the Mazda's Rotary Engine display unit, thanks to my rusty video shooting... Luckily I managed to catch the Honda ASIMO in action! I asked Kev to take the video for me, while I will be shooting pictures. Finally I get to see the cute robot created by Honda. Yeah, the power of dream!

We used up 3GB of data and went off at 8-9pm. Had dinner at Pizza Hut, a really really full one. Hahah... Then Kev sent SC to Sg.Wang and then we went back home with a tired body. A long visit again, maybe I shall call it off now...

KLIMS Day 2

I always wanna visit KLIMS on weekdays, so it will be less-crowded and easier for any photo shooting. Finally my chance came. After the final rush for the magazine, my Boss and I decided to visit KLIMS today, the last weekday of the exhibition. We departed from office at 3pm, fully armed with the shooting gears. Time to practise some flash-shooting!

We arrived at 4pm. The exhibition is still full of people, probably because tomorrow is holiday. We went to the Press Room to prepare the camera, and get some refreshments. Then we head straight to Hall 3...! Hahah, I didn't know we can do that actually. How convenient as a Press?? I followed my boss to look for some familiar faces in the hall. When they were chitchatting, I just used the E-1 with FL50 flash light to shoot some pictures from there. Wanna test out the result and learn some basic bouncing flash shooting technique. The result is so so, but still, alot better than the first visit. This time no need to get slow shutter and push high ISO. The flash really helps alot. Somemore I shoot in RAW, anything also can be adjusted. So I just try different flash setting to get as many results as possible.

We stayed in that hall for an hour or so, then went to the other side of the exhibition. Again, it's time to shoot shoot shoot. I was being requested to take picture of an ambassador girl here, by a fella forummer. I was quite suprise to get the PM about this. Luckily there's some sample shot attached, so I know how does the girl look like. Well, I went for my luck and... BINGO! Found the girl and took a couple shots. Hahaha, didn't get the name though, only to find it out later from other sources. People, meet the sweet girl from Gosford, Catherine. =)

There's another mission in the Hall 1... I need to find the cute cowgirls!! Haha... I missed them on the first visit. After some people posted their pix, I realised that it could be one of the biggest missed in KLIMS! So I purposely went to that section to look for the girls. They are working for Modenas, something related to bikes. Hah, I also don't know much since I don't ride. Just got a few shots of the lovely girls.

After some shooting, we went back to the Press Room to reload our "bullets". Boss brought the external storage device to store all our pictures, so that we can have a fresh memory card for the last 2 halls. Then he suggested to exchange camera to shoot. I was like... waaaa... Feeling pressure lah. My boss's camera is the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II. You know how much that camera cost?? @_@

I used the same flash shooting technique on this camera and I must say the result is much better than E-1. This camera rox!! Even the shutter sound also very shiok everytime I press it. Hahaha! I used the camera to take few pix of the cars and girls, also my friends. Then my boss met the Photo gang and had a rest there with them. I took the opportunity to go shoot more with this camera. Not often to shoot with the 1Ds ya know... Hehehe...

Today I still couldn't watch the ASIMO presentation. By the time we reached Honda Hall, the show already ended. I just used back the E-1 to take some pix for my friends over there and ciao with my boss. It was a pure-shooting trip. We didn't get any stuff from the exhibition except the pictures. Hahaha, after we went back to the office, it takes quite awhile to copy the pix and burn them on the DVD. 4GB of image data... #_#

KLIMS Day 1

Finally I get myself back into this exhibition after 3 years. This time it's abit different though. I'm visiting in as a Press, no need to pay to get in. Wahahaha~

Wasn't fully recovered from the sickness, but still, I managed to get ready to go visit KLIMS with Kev. We departed in the morning, with our bags of equipment. Plan to survey the exhibition today actually, cause I know I'm not gonna stay long... The cameras won't gonna last long with the limited battery and memory card.

It's Malaysian culture as usual. They park the cars everywhere around PWTC. Free parking space, closer to the exhibition, easier to cabut. What else do you get? A summon. We wouldn't take such risk. Kev drove to the far away shop lots area and park the car there. At least it feels safer. Then we walked to the hall and ready to get in. But guess what? We're lost at the ticket counter! LOL!

Since I got the Press Pass, I have to use another entrance. I took the chance to go visit the Press Room, where they provide the press kits for media people, and also another room for them to type reports and online. They have some computers over there, as well as refreshment. I met Lurker over there and had a chat with him in the room. It's quite relaxing though. Hahah...

I went to the Press entrance (beside ticket entrance) and they actually scanned my ID pass. It shows my face on the computer! Wow! Hahah, no wonder cannot copy the pass to others. Then it's a long walk to cross the river to the other side. Quite tiring. Once I reached Hall 1, I called Kev. Couldn't get to him. Then I look around, it's impossible to find your friend here I think. But someone found me though. Hahah, it's the forum kid, Leslie. He recognized me and greeted me. Then I took out the camera to look for nice subjects to shoot. I tried to find a friend at the Bridgestone section, but didn't see her though. I walked around Hall 1 for awhile, then went on to the next one.

When I entered Hall 2, I saw the big stage of Nissan. I know I'm gonna meet someone over here... but not!! Couldn't find her. Ahh... Maybe she went for break?? Nevermind, I'll just walk around and wait. Saw some nice cars on display at the Nissan stage, but Skyline GTR was nowhere to be seen. Hahaha... There's upperfloor in this hall, and they have a small stage to welcome the Japan GT queens. My friends told me about this and they all came for this event. I also joined the gang by waiting for the Jap girls to show up. They are 3 cute Japanese girls, performing dance at that small stage. #_# Their English is funny though. Hahaha... After this, they went down to the Nissan area and pose with the other Nissan ambassadors, included my long-lost friend. Hahaha~

Spent too much time in Hall 2, Kev and I decided to go Hall 3. It's one of the PCFair Hall if not mistaken. Smaller, but still very crowded. Here we have Peugeot, Naza KIA and Mitsubishi. I also expected to meet some familiar faces here. We splitted up after the entrance. I took the chance to test shoot for the correct WB because the spotlights were killing me. @_@ Then I went to the Naza KIA area and found my friends. Luckily there were sofa, I took a good rest there. Opposite of Naza, it's Mitsubishi. Didn't see my friend until I was about to leave. I took some shots of the EVO and Mitsubishi-i. It's strange that I didn't take the opportunity to sit in the EVO... What was I thinking? Hmm... At the Mazda site, I couldn't find the RX-8. They brought the CX-7 though, as well as some latest Mazda6. After that, there's nothing much to be seen and I went up to join Kev in Hall 4.

It's Toyota area with concept car and huge stage for performance. I didn't go for this though, but instead went to Ford section to look for my friend. This time it's a male friend. Hahah! But too bad, couldn't find him either. No energy to keep looking, I just walked around Volvo area to snapshot. Hah, a friend managed to spot me when she was posing on the rotating platform with the new concept car. Sharp eyes she got! Not only her, 2 friends on Toyota platform also spotted me. Whenever I point the camera to them, they will look at my direction. How nice~ =D

It's probably the quickiest hall we visited because Kev was in a rush. We went to Hall 5 for Honda section. Saw my friend rotating on the platform again. Hahah... Too bad she wasn't free, else I would ask for Honda freebies as many as possible! Heheh... When I was busy taking pix of the Civic, someone suddenly talked to me. Hahah, it's another friend again. She only works for the ASIMO presentation, so can come down to slack around. We talked for a short while and she gotta go to prepare for the presentation. Again, we got no time for that. We have to leave before the presentation.

The last hall was the Naza World area, where all the expensive sportcars were on display. It's probably the most quiet and less comfort hall to me. We didn't even stay for this, and went straight for the exit. It's a 6 hour walk and my back hurt! Haha, Kev fetched me home and I straight went to sleep. There are many pix to be edited, but what I need is a good rest...

I'll visit KLIMS again in next week. It's free, why not? Hahah~

Sick again!? Nooooo....

Ahhh... Feeling damn sick now. Stuck in the office, working for never ending jobs. And all these happened on a Saturday. Especially the first Saturday of KLIMS. Why oh why...

This morning I woke up earlier to get my car for service after 5k of mileage. When we're eating and waiting for the car to be fixed, the mechanic told my Dad that the car's brake pump is broken. Eh, how come I can still using it for the past 6 months then?? The problem existed long ago, the brake is not that tight on steep hill, need to fully press on it. Anyway, Dad decided not to joke with safety and get the problem fixed by installing double brake pump (something like that) which is double effective. Got the car fixed and serviced, then I went on to work with a weak and sleepy mind...

Started the work at 2pm, ended at 7pm. It was heavy rain. I was freaking tired at that time, and not sure what shall I do. Can't stay in office anymore cause everyone was leaving. Can't go anywhere either, because of heavy rain and I was freaking sleepy. It can never be the best time to complain the distance between office and my house... 40km!!

Well, I think I took the wise choice. I slept 1 hour in my car, at the carpark basement. Just open up some space on the windows for air, and locked the car. It's Saturday, not many cars around. I just tried my best to rest awhile before going back. Took a short nap. Luckily my car is quite spacious for lying down. Too bad I didn't put a pillow in my car!

After 1 hour, I woke up again. Feeling alot better. The rain had stopped, and I think I should be able to make it home safely. I drove slowly all the way (4th gear only) and stick on the middle lane. The journey looks longer than usual... maybe I was too concentrate, or too tired?? When I need the EuroBeat music to enlighten my mind for this trip, I couldn't find any. Just put on the Stephy's new album and drive slow all the way...

Thank God. Nothing happened. After I changed the shirt, I straight went to sleep. Woke up at midnight to get some medicine and then sleep again. Now I can tell you, sleeping is very vital. Especially if you have to work OT. Sleep is the most essential part of your working life. Sleep regularly and sleep peacefully!

KLIMS Press Day

Today is the KLIMS 2006 Press Day, but I'm stuck in office with works. Couldn't go, even though I got the Press Pass ready for me over there. Damn. Press Day is the best shooting day, because you get lesser people blocking you, easier to take pix whatever angle you want, closer to the guarded car (public day got barricade), and interact with the ambassadors... Double damn.

Hopefully I can have some free time during the weekend and go survey the exhibition first. Also, visiting some friends over there. Look forward to weekend...
